Accounting Rep- Contract to Hire

Job Summary: 

The Accounting Rep calculates, posts, verifies, and reconciles financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. 

Essential Functions: 

• Perform maintenance of the general ledger 

• Prepare various accounting statements 

• Prepare various financial reports 

• Prepare bi-weekly payroll 

• Responsible for accounts payable or receivable functions

• Reconcile accounts payable subledger and resolve any discrepancies

• Communicate with vendors regarding invoice and payment inquiries

• Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job 

• Work under general supervision 

• Must comply with company policies and procedures, as well as federal & state regulations 

• Any other task assigned by supervisor or management 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in Accounting or related area required 

• Knowledge: Understanding of bookkeeping procedures required; Must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field of accounting 

• Skills/Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and outside professionals; Ability to express self orally and in writing to prepare comprehensive analyses, recommendations and reports; Good PC skills, including solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required; A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected 

• Education/Certification: Two-year degree in Accounting or related field required. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree requirement 

• Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with Sage Accounts Payable is desired

Salary range: $28.23 to $35.62.
