Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

The Business Development Representative (BDR) position in the Domestic Sales organization is the first step to becoming a Regional Sales Director (RSD). This is the learning steps required to understand all aspects of the sales position, working in close contact with the Executive Sales Director for the territory. The candidate will be required to live in the South Florida area.

Independent work is required. Self-starting personality is a must. The ideal candidate starts out by demonstrating excellent flight skills. Safe and competent in right seat flying, in all legal weather (Night, IFR, Rain/Snow) with a prospective buyer in the left seat. The BDR uses all appropriate resources to assist the sales team in attaining the maximum level of Cirrus Aircraft Sales.

Prospecting in Existing Retail Markets as well as Fleet/Special Mission Markets

  • Finds and qualifies retail prospects through appropriate background research on prospects needs, financial condition and key personnel.
  • Develops and qualifies leads in Vertical and Emerging Markets.
  • Is aware of, and effectively uses the technical sales and promotional resources available from Cirrus Marketing.
  • Prepares and effectively presents general and special purpose sales presentations on Cirrus products.

Event Support throughout the region as assigned by the Executive Director.

  • Event setup and management including pre-event and post-event call support
  • Supports the sales team by providing critical SR2X demo support at local Cirrus NOW / VPO events.

Assist in Partnership Development

  • Develops territory by prospecting for new Training Centers and other partners which meet Cirrus SR20/22/22T requirements.
  • Trains Cirrus partner representatives on Cirrus products, sales practices, selling skills, and demonstration of product.
  • Maintains frequent contact with partners to offer encouragement, motivation, assistance in solving problems and challenges with sales.
  • Assures partners are informed regarding Cirrus programs, product information, product availability, competitive position, etc.
  • Shares best practices learned from one partner with others.
  • Assures Cirrus product is displayed everywhere practical in region.
  • Builds a cooperative team spirit among Cirrus partners within region

Cirrus Marketing Support

  • Coordinates and follows up special requests from prospects and customers with appropriate departments and personnel in Cirrus Marketing.
  • Prepares and submits in a timely fashion appropriate reports as determined by the Executive Director, including keeping CRM accurate and most up to date for all territory
  • Develops an awareness of competitive aviation sales activity and general business trends in assigned area of responsibility.

  • Bachelors degree or 3-5 years of experience in Sales & Marketing
  • 1+ year of prior sales experience desired
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Instrument Certificate, and second class medical required – CFII preferred
  • Advanced MS Office knowledge; computer software and internet proficiency.
  • Outgoing personality with expertise at developing relationships (i.e., a “people person")
  • Excellent verbal/written communication
