Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Senior Fabrication Specialist to support the Machining Operations team in Helena, MT.

The ideal Fabrication Specialist is team-oriented and communicative. The team supports a culture that is committed to continuous improvement and achieving higher levels of safety, quality and efficiency.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks.

  • Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks.

  • Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components.

  • Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains.

  • Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products.

  • Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products.

  • Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests.

  • Performs difficult organic chemical conversion and paint preparation.

  • Applies organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements.

  • Works on complex components and systems using established drawings and requirements.

  • Interprets high level requirements to develop methods and work sequences to meet objectives.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs; Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs; Occasional carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, walking, standing, balancing; Frequent reaching overhead and at or above shoulder; Frequent sitting; Frequent climbing.

  • 10+ years of experience in machine design principles and methodologies on large complex manufacturing CNC equipment.

  • 10+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 10+ years of experience with CNC machining in a production environment.

  • 10+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience training others on CNC equipment.

  • Experience with hard metals.

  • Experience with FANUC controls.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 7 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate +5 years related work, Bachelor +2 years related work, etc.)

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary Pay Range: $60,300 - 73,700

Sign-On Bonus:

External candidates are eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $5,000
