The Opportunity

We are currently seeking passionate individuals to join our team as Shipping & Receiving Specialists, primarily based at RAAF Base Edinburgh in South Australia. This role also offers exciting opportunities to work across various sites within Boeing Defence Australia.

As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, you will have the opportunity to gain comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in all facets of warehousing and distribution, supporting Boeing Defence Australias Supply Chain Management (SCM) team. Your responsibilities will include receiving, dispatching, and various warehousing and distribution support activities.

Successful applicants will demonstrate a keen interest in learning all aspects of material management, warehousing operations, freight booking, utilization of plant and manual handling equipment, kitting for aircraft upgrades, and proficiency in several inventory management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Processing Inventory Management System (Oracle) and MILIS transactions to support project activities as required
  • Management and control of inventory accounts including Serviceable, Repairable, Quarantine, Disposal Accounts and hazardous chemical management in accordance with Boeing and Defence policy and procedures
  • Gaining knowledge and experience in all aspects of receipt, storage, handling, packaging, shipping, and issuing of inventory at the project warehouse facility
  • Assist in maintaining P-8A Poseidon Depot Maintenance Support and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) inventory to ensure tooling is serviceable and readily available
  • Maintain adequate levels of PPE and general tooling.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Cert III in warehousing operations (highly desirable) fully funded on the job support for this qualification will be considered for successful candidates
  • Experience with MILIS, ERP (Oracle) and SAP (highly desirable but not necessary)
  • Forklift (High Risk) Licence (highly desirable) Training can also be funded and provided
  • Desire to grow your knowledge of, and gain experience in, supply support roles and functions
  • Desire to gain in-depth knowledge and experience in all computerised inventory management systems and methodologies utilised at BDA
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications preferable
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens to meet Defence security requirements, and have the ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 security clearance.
