Job Description:

The Technical Publications Coordinator will work primarily with technical publications and engineering staff to support the development and publishing efforts of all RHC Technical Publications in paper and digital formats. RHC Technical Publications provide critical information to Robinson Helicopter owners, operators, and maintenance personnel to ensure the airworthiness of our aircraft and the safety of our flying public.  Because of this, RHC Technical Publications functions as one of the primary points of technical communication with our customers around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Note: RHC Technical Publications include Safety Alerts (SAs), Safety Notices (SNs), Service Letters (SLs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Pilot’s Operating Handbooks (POHs), Maintenance Manuals (MMs), Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPCs), and Kit Instructions (KIs).

  • Principle editor for majority of pilot documents including POHs, optional equipment and foreign supplements, SAs, SNs, and Flight Training and Maneuver Guides.
  • Generates final publication files from MM, IPC, and POH revisions to create full book and chapter files.
  • Uploads and manages all Technical Publications web content.
  • Assists Technical Publications Manager with Jira task creation and organization.
  • Assists in data migration into various authoring tools.
  • Assists in maintaining Technical Publications archives.
  • Attends bi-weekly Technical Publications meetings and generates minutes.
  • Assists other RHC departments with various Technical Publications requests.
  • Assists Technical Writers in legacy data research, as required.
  • Assists Technical Illustrators in establishing content management system, as required.
  • Assists in technical writing and document development, as required.
  • Mails all international and domestic paper documents to subscribers, such as revisions to POHs.
  • Maintains envelopes, labels, letterhead and other supplies for mailroom.
  • Creates email notification for digital subscribers for original issuance or revisions to various Technical Publications.
  • Performs physical update of MMs, IPCs, and POHs for internal subscribers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent courses or certifications in English, Writing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with strong project management, organization, and risk management skills.
  • Excellent academic record.
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years using WordPress
  • 2+ years using InDesign
  • 2+ years using RapidAuthor or RapidCatalog (Cortona3D)
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
  • Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator
  • Familiarity with TurboCAD or other 2D software
  • Familiarity with Solidworks or other 3D software
  • Mechanical background
Salary Range: $20/hr-$25/hr
