Bode Aviation is looking for a motivated and experienced Avionics Technician
 
The focus is on technicians with experience in the removal, installation and testing of all types of avionics systems and wiring. 
 
Knowledge of General Aviation (GA) aircraft is a must.
 
Garmin knowledge is a big bonus

Successful candidates should have the ability to troubleshoot and repair problems related to avionics, radio transmission, navigational systems and computer systems.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The focus is on technicians with experience in the removal, installation and testing of all types of avionics systems and wiring.

The ability to troubleshoot and repair problems related to avionics, radio transmission, navigational systems and computer systems a must.

The avionics technicians will be performing testing, troubleshooting and repair duties on avionics systems and related equipment.
 
The avionics technician will be involved with a variety of duties including.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Repair and maintains systems used for aircraft navigation and radio communications, weather radar systems and other instruments and computers that control flight, engine and other primary functions.  
  • Perform inspections, make adjustments and repair, replace components, and correct any malfunction or deficiency with and without power applied to aircraft.
  • Perform aircraft maintenance in accordance with applicable technical data, SOPs and FAA regulations.Access, remove and re-install aircraft components including mechanical and electrical which obstruct their performance of assigned repair/replace tasks.Assist with repairs on off-aircraft components such as switch panels, circuit breaker panels, and junction boxes.
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical removals and installations.
  • Perform troubleshooting of all systems installed on the aircraft. 
  • Document work performed.
  • Fabricate parts/wire harness and install per engineering drawings.
  • Assist in troubleshooting off-aircraft components such as switch panels, circuit breaker panels, and junction boxes.
  • Comply with all environmental health and safety policies and procedures.    
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.Traces data flow and wiring diagrams.·Assist in updating and completion of work orders and operation details; assist with on-going maintenance tasks when avionics specific tasks are completed.
Job Requirements:
SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Knowledge of reading, interpreting drawings, diagrams, and manuals; aircraft avionics/other systems; wire coding systems; avionics test equipment;
  • knowledge of manuals necessary to perform job;
  • skill to use basic hand tools, operate ground support equipment, troubleshoot engine systems, and to measure using a variety of basic and precision measuring devices relating to job function.
FAA repair station experience is desired.
  • Mus be legally authorized to work in the USA.
  • Must be able to lift/pull/tug up to 50 lbs and occasionally 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in small confined locations and flying in small planes.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT drug test and follow a DOT part 135 drug test program.
  • Must be able to pass a company background check and ramp badge background check.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • There is an on call rotation

Relocation:
Travel: 1%, we have been to Idaho and for a couple of days
