GMRE is currently recruiting for Avionics and Sheet Metal Aircraft Technicians at Morris Air National Guard Base, Tucson, AZ. The positions are for 1st shift and may be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards.
Job Summary for Sheet Metal Aircraft Technician
- The Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician will perform maintenance and modifications on assigned aircraft.
Roles and Responsibilities for Sheet Metal Aircraft Technician
- The individual in this role will repair, fabricate, modify, reshape, and install aircraft sheet metal parts, items, and assemblies.
- Must have the ability to follow blueprints, measure for correct alignment, cut sheet metal to size, drill holes, fasten members together by bolting, riveting, glue etc.
- This work requires knowledge of sheet metal principles involved in aircraft and related equipment.
- Recommends methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.
- Knowledge is mandatory of sheet metal fabrication and repair, concepts and application of maintenance directives.
- Possess the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts IAW established Technical Data Specifications.
- Ability to interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Must have the ability to properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.
Job Summary for Avionics Aircraft Technician
- The Avionics Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and must possess knowledge of the electronic principles involved in a number of applications such as radar, data processing, navigation, and data display.
- Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.
- Must have the ability to recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.
Roles and Responsibilities for Avionics Aircraft Technician
- Must be knowledgeable of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems, concepts, and application of maintenance directives.
- Ability to interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Must have the ability to properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.
- Possess the skill to remove and replace F-16 aircraft parts and accessories/components.
- Have the skill to make adjustments and settings according to established Technical Data Specifications.
Education and Experience for Sheet Metal Aircraft Technician
- Minimum of five (5) years of sheet metal and structures experience in Fighter/Attack/Bomber/Transport (preferably F-16) maintenance as a sheet metal technician.
- Must possess the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts IAW established Technical Data Specifications.
Education and Experience for Avionics Aircraft Technician
- Minimum of six (6) years total and two (2) years recent (within 4 years of task order PoP start) experience in aircraft maintenance support on F-16 aircraft as an avionics technician in order to accomplish required follow-on operations.

Security Clearance Requirements
- Must have a minimum of an active U.S. SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.
- Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver’s license is required.
Physical Requirements
- Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123.
- Medical Examinations and Standards is mandatory for this specialty.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Travel Required
- Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position for meetings, training, and/or site visits.
