Job Summary

If you’re in the avionics industry, have experience assembling aviation related electrical components, or have experience crimping, soldering, or building aircraft wire harnesses, then you may be qualified to join a lifesaving cause. United Rotorcraft is a subsidiary of Air Methods that specializes in the manufacturing and modification of components for air and ground military medical support vehicles such as UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopters, AMPV, and Stryker heavy armor vehicles. Job Description

Install wires and electrical components into electrical modules and assemblies per engineering drawings and specifications.  Perform electrical continuity checks, operational tests per engineering and manufacturer’s instructions.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Mark wires, assemble lays-up, and terminate (crimp and solder) to engineering schematic specifications.
  • Install wires and electrical components into electrical modules and assemblies per engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Check drawings for accuracy and applicability for assigned tasks and advises lead and/or supervisor of deficiencies.
  • Perform electrical continuity checks, operational tests, and acceptance test procedures per engineering and manufacturer’s instructions on harnesses and wired components.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and modify electrical components and assemblies per manufacturer’s instructions, engineering schematics and accepted industry practices.
  • Record work progress, certifications, completion and testing on various production documents per company standards and established procedures.
  • Maintain shop and work area cleanliness.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two or more years related Electronics/Avionics experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Formal soldering training or demonstrates acceptable performance. 

Skills

  • Terminate wiring
  • Proficient in troubleshooting.
  • Soldering
  • Ability to read and understand Wiring Diagrams

Computer Skills

  • None

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • FCC License preferred
  • FAA repairman certificate preferred 

Salary

  • Hiring Salary Range: $23.76 - $29.09/hour
  • Bonus/Commission Eligible: No

Final compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidates qualifications, skills, certifications, and relevant work experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
