What you can expect as a 3D Designer at West Star:
Create architecturally accurate, photo-real, CG models, finished renderings of aircraft interiors, exteriors and sections as directed. Provide a high level of technical expertise in 3D modeling, lighting, texturing, and rendering and can work from handwritten instructions, sketches and engineering drawings utilizing advanced visualization software and techniques. The target audiences are customers, vendors, paint & interior program managers, internal sales, design, and engineering teams.
Be responsible for assisting with interior and exterior designs, producing interior and exterior visual presentations, assist Paint and Interior Designers throughout the enterprise with the introduction of design drawings.
The 3D Designer will also assist designers and sales throughout the enterprise with customers materials choices and produce mockup physical samples and 3D drawings and/or renderings for customer visual assistance and approval. Will be required to work independently and manage multiple projects.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
- Utilize current applications and learn new solutions as necessary. Experience with these applications may include, but not limited to: Autodesk Maya & 3Ds Max, Unity, Unreal, Keyshot, Nuke, Mudbox, MentalRay, Iray, Vray, Substance Designer, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), CATIA & SmarTeam.
- Ensure accuracy of assets for use in printed collateral, websites, mobile applications, etc.
- Provide Interior and Exterior rendering packages in accordance with the Interior Design and Sales objective.
- Provide backup support for formal Customer Presentations with Sales and Interior Designer.
- Interface with Sales, Design, Production and Engineering for input and to ensure accuracy of renderings.
- Provide support for West Star Aviation Design at key customer-facing events – such as: NBAA, Maintenance Managers Conference etc.
- Provide a high level of expertise in 3D Software. Provide effective problem-solving and diagnostic skills to resolve software and hardware problems in a timely manner.
- Support and continually update 3D models of all current and prior aircraft renderings as well as coordinate archiving drawing files for recordkeeping purposes.
- Build and manage a digital material library.
- Demonstrate efficient work practices and processes.
What you’ll need to bring with you:
Your Education:
- A High school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel required; a valid passport preferred
- Associates Degree in Graphic Design or other related field required; Bachelors Degree preferred
Your Experience :
- Experience in the Graphic Design field using Autodesk Maya & 3Ds Max, Unity, Unreal, Keyshot, Nuke, Mudbox, MentalRay, Iray, Vray, Substance Designer, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), CATIA & SmarTeam preferred
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Customer service-oriented.
- Experience in multiple projects & customer interface preferred
