Profile
The Electrical Engineering Specialist will ensure the design and certification of electrical aircraft systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support in service aircraft by creating and reviewing engineering modification packages based on customer change requests.
- Support aircraft test programs including writing Test Definition Sheets, aircraft equipment integration, aircraft test witnessing and subsequent test report development and review.
- Prepare and define Technical Requirement Documents and Engineering Technical Assessments.
- Evaluate vendor technical proposals and internal Program Change Requests.
- Prepare Design Change Proposals.
- Review and approve vendor requirement specifications, design documentation including engineering drawings, modification summary packages and vendor equipment qualification reports.
- Prepare technical reports to show compliance to the applicable certification requirements.
- Ensure airworthiness is maintained per required regulations.
- Technically manage supply chain relationships by supporting technical meetings and writing/receiving Engineering Coordination Memos.
- Support aircraft production including problem solving and snag resolution.
- Technically supervise/coordinate the work and the mentoring of less experienced Engineers in the department.
Education and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor or Masters in Avionics, Computer or Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering designation.
- You are knowledgeable with Transport Canada AWM525 and FAR Part 25 civil airworthiness regulations and industry advisory material including RTCA and APR documents applicable to TCCA and FAA electrical systems certification requirements.
- You have extensive knowledge and working experience in the design, installation, integration, test, and certification of aircraft Electrical Wiring Interconnection System, including high voltage wiring.
- You have working experience in aircraft system design, integration, test, and certification.
- The position will require travel to flight test, vendor, or operator sites.
Experience
- 10+ years of experience.
- Extensive knowledge and working experience in the design, installation, integration, test, and certification of aircraft Electrical Wiring Interconnection System, including high voltage wiring.
Skills
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Intermediate to advanced skill in Catia.
