The Boeing Company is currently looking for Electrical Equipment Installation Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join the BSC 787 Equipment Installation Team located in North Charleston, SC. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining electrical product detail, assembly and installation design.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains basic electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).

  • Develops and maintains basic cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Assists with engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).

  • Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.

  • Collects data to support the development of statements of work.

  • Assists in data gathering of supplier capabilities.

  • Reviews functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture.

  • Individual shall be able to work under general direction

Work Authorization:

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):  

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • Experience with wire design, wire harness installation or in working with electrical equipment.

  • Experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD), utilizing model-based definition (such as CATIA V5 or higher, Solidworks, Siemens, NX)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in Model-Based Definition (CATIA V5 or higher, Solidworks, Siemens, NX), ENOVIA, and PDM

  • Experience using all the Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Ability to quickly adapt to program tools and procedures

  • Knowledge and ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.

  • Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.

Typical Education & Experience:

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.​

  • Associate (Level 2): $81,600 - $110,400

  • Experienced (Level 3): $97,750 - $132,250
