Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), Space and Launch Division is seeking an Information Technology Engineer associate or mid-level to support our team in El Segundo or Seal Beach, CA.

This team manages the Model Based Engineering architecture development and deployment effort for Space and Launch programs. We provide technical expertise for the development, definition and application of Product Lifecycle Management and Systems Engineering tools in support of the development of complex space based communications & network systems. We work in a collaborative team environment across engineering subject areas. The team works in a fast paced, innovative environment where excellent technical,
organizational, written and verbal communications skills are essential.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Works with the lead architect to coordinate the management, administration and analytics of requirements and verification, understanding of functional architectures and Concepts of Operations defining system of systems.

  • Coordinates deployments of Model Based Engineering tools and integrations. Understand core competencies in Model Based Definition and Trade Study analysis.

  • Coordinates integration of new technologies and the transition from legacy systems to support business requirements,.

  • Assists the Lead Architect and coordinates development and deployment of new or revised processes in support of new computing systems, including documentation and training.

  • Facilitates development of system integration strategies and architectures that promote use of common tools and processes, participates in integrated product teams throughout the product life cycle, and integrating data across tools and providing analyses from multiple sources/tools.

  • Supports systems engineering tasks associated with requirement decomposition, functional architecture/logical architecture, requirement traceability, and verification and validation of large complex systems.

  • Participates in peer reviews, support design reviews and other design-related activities.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret TS/SCI Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required).  (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience): (see education and experience for the levels below)

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 1&43; years of work experience with Git, GitLab, GitHub, or equivalent code management system

  • 1&43; years of work experience integrating software utilizing scripting (i.e. JavaScript, shell script, etc.)

  • 1&43; years of work experience in using VMWare, Horizon VDI, and NSX deployments

  • Experience with Basic Kubernetes and Docker/Rancher skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • Experience developing standards in a standards development organization (i.e. ANSI, ISO, IEC, AIA, etc.) or a professional technical society (i.e. ASME, SAE, INCOSE, etc.)

  • 1&43; years of work experience developing engineering processes, procedures, or methods for performing engineering work

  • Experience with engineering tools such as CAD, compilers, and configuration management

  • Functional Architecture - Knowledge of functional flow analysis, methodologies.

Typical Education/Experience: 

Level 2

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).

Level 3 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master&43;3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for associate level: $78,200 – $105,800

Summary pay range for mid-level: $96,050 - $129,950
