Boeing Research and Technologys (BR&T) Interiors team is seeking a Materials, Process, and Physics Engineer to join the team in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including mid-level or senior level engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Defines requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and maintenance of products and approves their use.

  • Leads production of specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes.

  • Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.

  • Promotes standardization across business activities.

  • Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs.

  • Leads development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes to meet requirements.

  • Integrates new technologies as appropriate.

  • Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.

  • Conducts complex analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts, or processes.

  • Implements corrective and preventive actions.

  • Leads design, development and qualification of sophisticated computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements.

  • Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.

  • Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design, and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas.

  • Leads others and work statement, assist defining strategies and/or provides consultation.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite the North Charleston, SC site.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Experience working with composite aircraft materials

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 7&43; years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with composite materials fabrication and testing

  • Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or materials science

Typical Education/Experience: 

Mid-Level (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master&43;3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD&43;4 years related work experience, Master&43;7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for mid-level: $95,200 - $128,800

Summary pay range for senior: $116,450 - $157,550
