Looking for a motivated individual to be a Principle Project Engineer leading multidisciplinary teams of engineers (including systems, mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines) developing complex engineering solutions. The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international. As a key member of the Avionics Test Engineering leadership team, the Senior Project Engineering ensures the successful execution of test solution projects from inception, through deployment to customers, as well as long-term support. Typical test solutions include Optical, In-circuit Test, Boundary Scan, as well as COTS components such as switch systems, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies and other related equipment coupled with custom software for performing Environmental Stress Screening as well as testing circuit card assemblies and top-level products.

This is a multi-faceted role requiring versatility across a variety of tasks in a highly collaborative environment. The role requires working closely with engineers and leaders, at various locations around the globe, to ensure project success. Organizationally, the role reports to an Engineering Manager in the Avionics Test Engineering organization.

Responsibilities:
- Lead project technical execution and maintain performance metrics for decision making and continuous improvement purposes
- Manage project scope (requirements and change requests) ensuring it meets agreed to commitments
- Generate and maintain project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical path
- Utilize Earned Value (EV) methods for managing project budget (and schedule)
- Ensure project meets quality expectations
- Identify risks and opportunities and resolve them through proactive ownership
- Prepare well-crafted presentations reporting project status to leadership teams
- Develop Engineering estimates and proposals for potential projects and gaining organizational buy-in

Qualifications:
- As a minimum, candidates for this role must possess a STEM degree and have five years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have prior project leadership of multidiscipline engineering teams, managing customer relationships, and a Master of Engineering or Master of Business Administration.

- Sound technical knowledge in at least one of the following engineering disciplines: systems, mechanical, electrical, or software
