Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Experienced or Senior Quality Engineer (Level 3 or 4) to join our 24-50 Fab QA team located in Puyallup, Washington.

The Quality Engineer will be working with cross-functional/cross-business unit teams across the Fabrication & Manufacturing division to improve the Quality Management System health. The ideal candidate will partner with other engineering functions to ensure compliance to our regulatory, contractual, and engineering requirements. The ideal candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work independently and within the team. The candidate must also be able to communicate clearly within the team and cross-functionally in order to ensure compliance to quality expectations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Provides interpretation of complex requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities.
  • Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Develops and implements corrective actions.
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under minimal direction.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors degree or higher in an Engineering field.
  • 3&43; years’ experience working in a quality job role.
  • Experience, and at least considered an intermediate user, with office tools such Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience working with Quality Standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 14000.
  • 3&43; years’ Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actions.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5&43; years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal and external customers.
  • Experience working in a team environment.

Typical Education/Experience: 

Experienced (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master &43; 3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD &43; 4 years related work experience, Master&43;7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range for Experienced: $99,900 - $127,650

Summary pay range for senior: $123,300 - $157,550
