SUMMARY
The Sales Engineer is a motivated
and team-oriented individual capable of operating under minimal supervision and
supporting the development and capture of pipeline opportunities for aerospace
project engineering, certification and Organization Designation Authorization (ODA)
services. In addition, this role will grow the client relationship in support
of expanding the company scope of services provided to assist the customer in
meeting goals, to include all department/phases that will support a proposal package,
and eventual handoff to the project team.The candidate must work efficiently and effectively with customers,
managers, subordinates, peers and the Leadership Team, as a key to success in
this position.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Help
create and reinforce a strong brand image and awareness in the industry by
making contact with key industry and customer targets and sharing our
capabilities, services and expertise.
Attend
key industry trade shows to further support our brand strengths and market
awareness.
Collaborate
with Sales team to develop and nurture a growing pipeline of business
opportunities for the engineering, certification and ODA groups.
Serve
as subject matter expert and research and advise management of market
conditions that will impact the business; develop strategies and plans to
maximize the positive and mitigate the negative
Prepare
and deliver technical presentations that explain our services and products to
prospective and existing customers; create a strong. value-based proposition
for clients.
In
concert with other department heads and the Sales team, prepare technical
proposals and related requests for proposals and/or quotations through a company
business approval process
Coordinate
departmental bids for each potential project with subject matter experts,
identifying and mitigating risks within proposals.
After
review of customer requirements and associated FAA requirements, create the
initial document package in support of the proposal. This package will include:

Statement
of work that describes the path to a delivered product,
Initial
topline schedule that comes from this list of work and interdependencies with
internal and external schedules and elements which are not in direct company
control,
Initial
manpower plan that comes from the list of work and schedule constraints,
Framework
of departmental bids for this package
Ensure
that awarded work is handed off to project performance teams with clearly
defined Statement of Work, Schedules and budgets in the standard departmental
formats for clear and efficient execution of the project owner team.
Be
capable of closing sales to create a book of business that will show year-over-year
growth of at least 10% or as defined by Leadership and the Board of Directors
Understand
and be capable of cross-selling all products and services
See
opportunities for, and continuously improve the process.
Complete
initial / recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual

Bachelor’s
degree or higher in engineering, business, or related discipline or combination
of Associates and years’ experience
5-7 years
aviation and / or Engineering Sales experience
Must be detail oriented, with strong and effective
communication skills includingverbal, written and presentation.
Ability
to analyze and draft complex Statements of Work (SOW) documents and customer
correspondence
Strong
understanding of the STC process, Systems Engineering and Program Management
processes
Familiarity
with budget tools and reports
Familiarity
with PC based applications including MS Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and
Adobe.
Ability
to prioritize assignments and to operate under strict deadlines
Experience
in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or Certification a plus
Program
Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
Ability
and willingness to work extended hours, when needed.

TRAVEL
Travel is required;
the employee filling this position must be willing to travel on short notice
and possibly for extend periods. The candidate must possess current passport and be able to travel
freely world-wide.Expected travel
requirement is approximately 50%.
