You will use your experience and judgement to plan and execute responsibilities listed below. You will also generate innovative solutions to complex challenges throughout the software lifecycle; trying new and different ways to handle problems and opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Solution Design and Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of complex warehouse execution system solutions, considering factors such as system integration, scalability, and performance optimization.
  2. Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in WES technologies, including but not limited to order management, pick-to-light systems, inventory management, task allocation, and warehouse control systems.
  3. Customization and Configuration: Customize and configure WES software platforms to align with client requirements and business processes, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  4. System Implementation: Lead the implementation of WES solutions, including software installation, configuration, testing, and deployment, ensuring successful project execution within defined timelines and budget constraints.
  5. System Integration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate WES solutions with other warehouse automation systems such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), Material Handling Equipment (MHE), and robotics.
  6. Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of WES solutions, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements to enhance efficiency, throughput, and reliability.
  7. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve complex issues related to WES solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to warehouse operations.
  8. Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive technical documentation, including system design specifications, user manuals, and training materials, to facilitate knowledge transfer and enable effective system usage.
  9. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in the warehouse automation industry, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance our solution offerings and maintain our competitive edge.
  10. Client Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their business requirements, provide technical expertise, and offer guidance on best practices for optimizing warehouse operations through WES solutions.

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution. Masters degree preferred.
  • Experience in integrating software applications with various material handling systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), warehouse execution systems (WES), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, using industry-standard protocols and APIs.
  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle) to manage data related to material handling processes, such as inventory tracking, order management, and equipment status monitoring.
  • Strong algorithmic and problem-solving skills to design and implement algorithms for optimizing material flow, resource allocation, routing, and scheduling in warehouse and distribution center environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native architectures, including the design and implementation of scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud solutions for diverse business needs.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture patterns and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to design and deploy modular, decoupled, and scalable software applications in distributed environments.
  • Experience in designing and implementing integration solutions using middleware technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, MuleSoft).
  • Deep understanding of security principles, standards, and best practices, with the ability to design and implement robust security architectures, including identity and access management, encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or KVM/QEMU, including virtual machine (VM) creation, configuration, and management.
  • Understanding of networking concepts, including IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, routing, and firewall configuration, to set up and manage network connectivity for virtual machines and Ice Blue controllers.
  • Knowledge of Elasticsearch, the underlying data store used by Kibana, including index management, querying, and data aggregation, to effectively utilize Kibana for data exploration and analysis.

WE VALUE:

  • 5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Warehouse Execution Systems (WES), preferably in a senior or lead role.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse automation technologies, including order fulfillment processes, pick to light systems, material handling equipment, and warehouse control systems.
