As a Global Repair & Overhaul Engineering (GROE) professional at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a crucial role in sustaining and expanding our Avionics Repair & Overhaul (R&O) business as the Sr. Advanced Electrical Engineer. Located at the Honeywell Olathe Service Center within the Americas Service Center (ASC) network of the Honeywell Aerospace Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), you will be responsible for creating electrical engineering solutions that drive cost reduction and repair capability expansion.

In this role, you will utilize your advanced avionics knowledge and engineering expertise to complete various engineering tasks. You will introduce and lead innovative solutions for test capacity and test time reduction, driving productivity improvements. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust plans and roadmaps for site critical test equipment, from design to maintenance. Collaboration will be a key aspect of this role, as you will drive projects with global functional involvement, working closely with test engineering, product engineering, and NPI teams. You will also lead efforts to secure capital for test equipment productivity improvement, aiming to drive significant throughput.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Utilize advanced avionics knowledge and engineering expertise to complete engineering tasks.
•Introduce innovative solutions for test capacity and test time reduction to improve productivity.
•Lead the critical test equipment plan from design to maintenance with robust plans and roadmaps.
•Drive global projects involving test engineering, product engineering, and new product introductions.
•Lead initiatives to secure capital funding for improving test equipment productivity and driving significant throughput improvements.
•Collaborate with global teams to develop comprehensive action plans and drive value engineering projects across the organization.
•Utilize your expertise to develop and modify test software, optimizing it to enhance labor efficiency and streamline testing processes.
•Identify opportunities for reducing repair costs and lead projects from solution development to deployment, implementing cost-saving measures effectively.
Develop and modify test software and automations to reduce manual testing and improve labor efficiencies.
•Identify opportunities for repair cost reduction and manage projects from solution development through deployment.
•Expand avionics repair capability by developing and deploying new repair processes.
•Lead the entry-into-service process for repair of newly developed products.
•Introduce new technology and find new applications of existing technology to improve repair shop business performance.
•Lead efforts to standardize avionics repair and test procedures across sites for productivity improvements.
•Lead cross-functional teams through the Corrective Action Request (CAR) process to prevent defects in repair processes.
•Communicate with internal and external customers and suppliers about problem resolutions and warranty review.
•Utilize persuasive communication skills to influence internal stakeholders in funding capital purchases, leveraging quantified business impacts such as Return on Investment (ROI), payback period, and Net Present Value (NPV)
•Perform avionics bench test system troubleshooting and repairs.
•Mentor junior engineers and define engineering processes for the team.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS:
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

YOU MUST HAVE:
•Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
•8+ years of working experience within Avionics or the Electronics Industry 

WE VALUE:
•Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
•Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions in complex situations, balancing analysis with decisiveness.
•Capability to estimate the business impact of engineering solutions.
•Self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision while resolving complex situations and problems.
•Knowledge of avionics products and systems, including cockpit displays, electromechanical instruments, flight controls, FMS, autopilot, inertial navigation, GPS, DME, ILS, nav/com radios, satcom, radio altimeters, weather radar, transponders, TCAS, EGPWS, and flight recorders.
•Understanding of FAR 21 (OEM) and FAR 145 (repair) regulation concepts.
•Familiarity with guidelines DO-178, DO-254, and DO-160.
•Understanding of product and test system configuration management.
•Ability to learn and comply with import and export regulations (EAR and ITAR).
