Systems Engineer

As a Systems Engineer at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics you will:

  • Stay at the forefront of data visualization in web applications by staying current on trends, top tools and emerging technologies and recommend, advocate for, and implement solutions that are a performant and fit for the customer’s mission.
  • Be part of collaborative and diverse team of junior, senior, and expert level developers and mission leaders allowing you to mentor and learn from others.
  • High level of collaboration with multiple product teams to design solutions from the user’s perspective.
  • Unique opportunities to work with UI/UX designers who manage the design – look and feel – of the application, as well as Mission Outreach teams who provide direct user feedback for continuous product improvement.
  • Review and test software components and gain experience developing comprehensive system, performance, and design plans.
  • Create and modify documentation in Confluence and official system deliveries (Certification etc.).
  • Troubleshoot user issues as a Tier 2 point of contact.

Experience and Qualifications:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:  

Required Education and Years of Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
  • Nineteen (19) years total of SE experience may be substituted for candidates without a qualifying bachelor’s degree.

Required Qualifications: ​

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • 14+ years’ experience with: 
    • Providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting system requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, developing system architectures, and perform technical assessment
    • Reviewing and/or approving system engineering documentation ensuring that processes and specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and complete
    • Developing system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents
    • Managing and ensuring the technical integrity of the system baseline, continually updating as various changes are imposed on the system during the lifecycle from development through deployment and operations & maintenance
    • Developing scenarios (threads) and an Operational Concept that describes the interactions between the system, the user, and the environment, that satisfies operational, support, and maintenance, and disposal needs
    • Working together as a Team Player to deliver efficient and effective tools.

Desired Qualifications: ​

  • Experience as an Agile SCRUM Master
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment
  • Experience generating technical documentation
  • Experience using with Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with HAVEN
  • Experience with AWS

Telework Availability:  Hybrid work authorized; Up to 16-hours per week

Work Location:  Annapolis Junction, MD 

 

Summary Pay Range:

Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

$170,000 - $200,000
