This position is contingent upon contract award.

DSoft Technology is looking for a Senior Telecommunications Systems Engineer to lead a small team supporting a federal agency with telecommunications programs for users of VoIP, voicemail, cellular, and video teleconferencing (VTC) services.  This is an on-site position in either Reston, VA or Denver, CO, and is contingent upon three-year contract award. This role is expected to bring expertise in managing voice networks for over 2,000 users across the nation.  We’re not just hiring you for a job but for a career at DSoft Technology – come grow with us. 


Essential Duties
•    Develop telecommunications system hardware, software, and database requirements, solutions, and implementation plans 
•    Provide comprehensive network, system, and database administration and engineering services.
•    Perform system administration to achieve Service Level Agreements and comply with agency security protocols
•    Manage enterprise-wide VTC systems (hardware, software, and infrastructure)
•    Create procedures, technical guides, and end user training documentation
•    Maintain accountability for hardware appliances
•    Manage incidents and requests using the government’s ITSM ticketing system
•    Troubleshoot system-related issues within service level agreement thresholds
•    Be accountable for tasks, track time, and keep team members and the project manager informed


Supervisory Responsibilities
You will be the Firm’s representative and subject matter expert for data center operations and will supervise three other staff in addition to being a directly supporting the government client. Work will be directed in collaboration with our contract project manager.


Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 
•    Extensive knowledge and experience maintaining Avaya Aura Communications Manager v6.4 Private Branch Exchange (PBX) and Polycom Web Suite

Extensive knowledge and experience maintaining Avaya Aura Communications Manager v6.4 Private Branch Exchange (PBX) and Polycom Web Suite. 

Demonstrated strong infrastructure design, configuration, test, and troubleshooting abilities.

Extensive skills in developing, debugging, maintaining, and documenting programs and scripts used to manage network infrastructure. 


Deliver innovative modernization solutions. 


Demonstrated experience working both collaboratively and independently.

 Excellent analytical skills in finding ways to work more efficiently.


Strong verbal and written communication skills with both teams and clients.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications

•   Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or a related field) and six (6) years of related technical experience in supporting wireless mobile communications, VOIP, VPN, and videoteleconferencing.  Four (4) years of additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. 

Must currently hold one of the following professional credentials: Avaya Certified Implementation Specialist (ACIS) or Avaya Certified Support Specialist (ACSS). 

Must hold the following professional credentials: Polycom Certified Videoconferencing Engineer (PCVE) 

Must be a U.S. Citizen. 


Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
