Job Summary

The Production Controller is accountable for attaining Operational Excellence through material flow across their designated area of responsibility, in line with the Team Leaders direction.  Ability to understand operational flow and scheduling systems to perform a variety of functions including being directly involved in the material distribution and transportation flow of all goods and services that support the Companys operations. Will be expected to serve in multiple functions that involve stores/receiving, shipping, returned/finished goods, and inventory control/ movement.
 

Job Responsibilities

o    Provide material control services that include the accurate and efficient processing of paperwork, order picking, delivery, and counting of materials, supplies, tools, and finished goods; provide support for packaging and shipping of material to internal and external customers.
o    Work with various departments to prioritize work orders and manufacturing or tool set-up tasks in an assigned production cell.  Assist supervision and workforce in the resolution of work order or shop supply discrepancies, problems and/or concerns.
o    Maintains clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations.
o    Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring that the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are applied and that their assigned areas are a model of a world class healthy and safe working environment.
o    Driving the disciplined and rigorous maintenance behind the Lean Operating Model (LOM) pull system across their assigned areas.
o    Cooperate with the Team Leader to ensure the best production control outcomes for the entire Area.
o    Satisfactory and timely completion of assigned tasks.
o    Ensuring that all blades needed for the production process are available on time between work centers per the pull system. 
o    Coordinate with management and the production control team members to ensure that production needs are met efficiently and effectively.
o    Reviewing production reports to identify any potential problems with the process and communicating with management. 
o    Train new members of staff in production processes and pull system. 
o    Implement improvements to production methods/pull system to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
o    Investigate and resolve any problems that arise during the production process.
o    Ensures the companys commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.
o    Fully complies with the "GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government" in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the United States Government.  Ensure subordinate staff is aware of the policy and their individual responsibility and accountability for complying with it.
o    Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
o    Must have the ability to speak, read and write English.

Job Requirements:
Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
o    High school diploma or GED
o    3+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Warehousing, and/or logistics environment including ERP/ MRP experience.
o    Practitioner level for Internal Flow & Material Staging within a manufacturing environment.
o    Must be fluent (speaking and reading) the English Language

Preferred Qualifications:

o     Communication
o    Previous experience in manufacturing environment is preferred
o    Able to demonstrate competence to undertake key tasks within their designated work zone or those in zones within similar processes.
 

Compensation Range

The Compensation range for this position is between $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
