Position Summary
The Material Planner Heavy Maintenance, reports to the Supervisor of Materials Planning.
The Position is responsible for working closely with Strategic Maintenance Planning, Heavy Maintenance Business Partners, Engineering, and Procurement to ensure material availability for scheduled aircraft maintenance along with support of unscheduled material requirements during aircraft heavy maintenance visits. The Planner is responsible for planning and logistics of items for Heavy Maintenance locations, as well as procurement planning of items needed in support of long-term fleet initiatives. The Planner will assist with the support of Deferred Maintenance Items (DMI), Maintenance Defect Deferral Report (MDDR), Minimum Equipment List (MEL), Loans and Borrows, and material logistics for critical items related to aircraft in heavy maintenance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supports Strategic Maintenance Planning and Heavy Maintenance teams in the handling of requisitions related to material needs for aircraft during heavy maintenance checks.
- Continuously improve a system of scorecards to track internal JetBlue processes and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and help identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare cost summaries of historical spend.
- Partner with Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to prepare future budgets and ensure budget compliance.
- Report regularly to Manager (direct report) regarding opportunities and future initiatives for Technical Procurement Team.
- Coordinates with Strategic Maintenance Planning, Heavy Maintenance Providers, and Business Partner Relations teams in the logistics for scheduled and unscheduled material requirements.
- Oversees and executes critical material with approved logistics providers and couriers as well as sources and executes chartered aircraft requirements when necessary.
- Manages daily workflow of requisitions required for heavy maintenance Predock requirements and material findings.
- Proactive planning and allocating of material for aircraft at Heavy Maintenance Visit (HMV), and items required for the Maintenance Defect Deferral Report (MDDRs), Engineering Controls (ECs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and shop service orders for aircraft during check.
- Maintaining compliance with internal audit guidelines as well as all Federal Aviation Regulations and Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements.
