Job Description:

Cirrus Aircraft is looking for a Materials Management Co-Op from May to December 2024. This role must be full-time onsite from May-August, 2024 and can be either part-time onsite or remote from September-December 2024.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Perform container right-sizing and kanban sizing calculations to determine the optimal way to present and order materials
  • Reduce waste by implementing returnable container programs with external suppliers
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design custom presentation solutions for oversize parts
  • Design point-of-use (POU) part presentation solutions that will allow technicians to ergonomically and efficiently access materials
  • Replenish materials from Raw & In Process stock (RIP) to POU during line live support
  • Support technicians during the transition to mixed-model assembly by conducting training and fielding questions
  • Gathers feedback from implementation stakeholders
  • Develops business tools and solutions that identify process improvement opportunities through strategic thinking and analysis
  • Measures the success of the implementation area and brainstorms solutions for unanticipated challenges

Qualifications

Education/Training:

Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Currently pursuing ASCM CPIM certification preferred.

Related Experience:

  • Previous supply chain work experience or internship preferred.
  • Experience related to the following areas; warehouse, supply chain, logistics, replenishment, process improvement, and data analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, and ability to multi-task

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Preferred experience with Epicor Avantè ERP and Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP
  • Proficiency in Material Pull Systems, and an understanding of Materials Requirements Planning functionality and limitations
  • Must possess a strong attention to detail and ability to focus on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be comfortable operating with minimal supervision and ability to prioritize and execute tasks
  • Ability to translate complex data into a simple to understand format
  • Ability to communicate effectively across a wide variety of functions and levels of the organization.
  • Ability to influence cross-functionally with both a keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to present complex information & concepts in a precise and digestible fashion
  • Comfort in ambiguous situations and ability to work towards goals

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to complete entire duration of internship/co-op.
  • Must be able to secure local housing for duration of internship/co-op.
