Job Summary: The Aviation Program Buyer at AerSale oversees purchasing activities, collaborates with R&D teams for schedule optimization, and ensures compliance with procurement practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Key responsibilities include managing supplier relationships, resolving quality issues, and contributing to process improvements.

• Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities ensuring timely execution.

• Procure and manage long lead items to support project schedules.

• Collaborate with R&D teams to expedite schedules by ensuring timely material arrivals.

• Manage materials at various stages of release within an R&D environment.

• Adhere to Corporate Procurement Practices and Procedures when negotiating, sourcing, and contracting for goods and services.

• Evaluate quotes and align with departmental processes to secure optimal costs for AerSale.

• Review requisitions for accuracy prior to creating purchase orders.

• Execute and supervise supplier purchase orders to meet production build plans and service levels.

• Manage purchasing needs for product changes and new introductions.

• Analyze quotes to determine the best overall offer, considering supplier performance, capability, capacity, and financial stability.

• Maintain clear communication of expectations and priorities with suppliers.

• Ensure suppliers comply with AerSale Quality and compliance standards, including supplier selection and part documentation.

• Update supplier and part attributes in the ERP system.

• Handle supplier returns and resolve inbound quality issues promptly with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

• Resolve receiving and invoicing discrepancies promptly to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure timely supplier payments.

• Manage inventory of purchased parts, including disposition of slow-moving, rev control/compliance, or obsolete items.

• Address supplier non-conforming issues effectively.

• Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practices.

• Review requisitions from a business perspective and provide expert advice.

• Support the creation and release of new parts in the system.

• Assist in achieving Quality Management System (QMS) objectives and standards.

• Aid requisitioners in selecting suppliers that align with AerSales Approved Supplier/Vendor List (ASL/AVL).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in supply chain management, business administration, aviation management, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of buying experience in an R&D/New Product Development/Program buyer environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and software operation/data entry.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
  • Background in the aerospace industry as an OEM, supplier, contractor, or subcontractor.
  • Experience in engineering development, prototyping, and testing environment is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with Pentagon ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience with ITAR regulations.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 standards.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to prioritize internal issues effectively.
  • Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration and communication across all levels.
  • Strong multitasking skills to handle multiple competing priorities.
