Job Description:
 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Ravn Alaska Station Agent is responsible for completing various tasks, such as assisting customers, loading/offloading baggage and cargo, and marshaling aircraft, to ensure a safe, productive, and professional airport operations on behalf of the organization. This position will be trained to safely and efficiently accomplish all ground operation duties in their respective location, completing tasks as assigned/requested by the Station Manager, typically outdoors. Other responsibilities aligned with Ravn Alaska Core Values include but are not limited to:

  • Upholding safety by following all requirements of safe operations near or around aircraft, upholding policies and procedures established in the Company Airport Operations Manual (AOM) and delaying or stopping all airport operations that do not meet these requirements.
  • Establishing reliability by ensuring every customer is served in an efficient, thorough, and courteous manner. When difficult situations arise, the Station Agent will thoughtfully address the issue with patience and empathy.
  • Acting with integrity by clearly communicating with customers about travel requirements and changes, and when collecting money for fares and other charges. Trust is built on transparency as well as setting expectations at a reasonable level and delivering to the standard that has been set.
  • Demonstrating commitment by maintaining knowledge of and familiarity with local airport, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies, to ensure operations are compliant and safe.
  • Ensuring integrity of operations by each day, in all actions and words, emphasizing, demonstrating, and encouraging superior customer service and ensuring that all decisions made are in not only the best interests of safety and the company, but also in consideration of potential customer impact.
  • Promoting our commitment to safe operations by actively taking part in Safety Management System (SMS) activities, including SMS training, promotional activities, and initiatives.
  • Embodying the spirit of connectedness by engaging in courteous interactions with customers, supervisors, co-workers, and business associates. The Station Agent is cross-trained in all areas of ground operations and is in a prime position to positively influence the passenger experience at our airports.
  • Showing reliability by responsibly operating ground support equipment in accordance with company procedures and instructions, reporting any damage or repairs immediately, and partnering with team members to safely and efficiently accomplish tasks.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate can learn the flow of airport operations, can troubleshoot and multitask, and brings a great attitude to work every day. Other qualifications include:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED. 
  • Must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the role including bending, twisting, and lifting a minimum of 50 pounds on a consistent basis.
  • Must be proficient with computer systems and MS Office, with a preference for experience with Sabre and software for the airline industry.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must have the flexibility to work a varied duty schedule, which includes early and late shifts.
  • Must be able to keep a high standard for conscientious and courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and adapt to fluctuating workloads and shifting priorities associated with a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work extended periods of time in inclement weather conditions.
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must maintain a strong work ethic, demonstrate excellent leadership, and be neat in appearance.
  • Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS). 
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug test. 
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Must be comfortable working in an airport environment around odors and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.
