 The Aircraft Maintenance Controller will have the authority and responsibility for making decisions concerning the course of action required to ensure safe and airworthy aircraft in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements:
  • This position manages in accordance with the REACH General Operations Manual and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, all Out-Of-Service (OOS) processes including the supervision of aircraft maintenance due to unscheduled or planned activities, deployment of additional AMT’s, tools, equipment and consulting with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical representatives to ensure the highest degree of safety, quality and timely return to service of the aircraft.
  • The Controller is responsible for working with the Maintenance Control Manager to develop a skilled and qualified staff, develop high quality, safe and efficient processes and systems to maintain all aircraft in a safe, efficient and compliant state of flight readiness.
  • The Controller works directly with the Hangar and Regional Maintenance Managers, Aviation Administrator On-Call (AAOC) and Maintenance Operations Specialist to plan all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance which may include aircraft repositioning and/or swaps. This position is the focal for aircraft maintenance planning and aircraft movement.
  • In conjunction with the Hangar and Regional Maintenance Managers, the Controller directs all unscheduled maintenance activity at REACH.
  • Coordinates with the Hangar and Regional Maintenance Managers all scheduled maintenance, including responsibility for flight readiness of training and spare aircraft.
  • In conjunction with the Hangar and Regional Maintenance Managers, assigns and directs line maintenance personnel to ensure efficient work flow, high quality completion standards, for line maintenance events.Maintains daily oversight of vendor maintenance projects, documents progress and deviations through completion.
  • Assists as necessary the REACH Purchasing group to ensure efficient and timely acquisition of parts and supplies for line maintenance events.Provides input to Hangar and Regional Maintenance Managers regarding the Line and Hangar AMT performance.
  • During OOS events, works with the Regional Maintenance Managers to ensure the line maintenance areas, hangars, shop equipment and tools are kept in a repaired, clean, and safe condition.Coordinates with the Flight Operations Department designee to support the Flight Operations schedule and requirements, and to request any required maintenance pilot.
  • Coordinates with Chief Inspector to ensure accurate and timely completion of maintenance sign-offs and work order documentation in accordance with REACH procedures and federal regulations.
Qualifications
  • Valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate required.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) certificate required.
  • Previous experience working under CFR Parts 135 and 145 preferred.
  • Highly knowledgeable of Federal Aviation Regulations, and of EMS aviation practices and requirements.
  • Maintenance experience on the Agusta 109, Agusta 119, Bell 407, Eurocopter EC135, Beechcraft B200, and AS 350 aircraft preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years aircraft maintenance experience preferred, including management and supervisory duties.
  • May occasionally be required to travel to other REACH out bases to oversee or assist in maintenance events.
  • Capable of maintaining flexibility and adaptability in leading company maintenance activities supporting around-the-clock air ambulance operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel and Power Point).
