Boeing Defence UK is offering an exciting and challenging opportunity to join our award winning, IET Accredited ‘Boeing Aircraft Maintenance Apprenticeship Programme’. This Programme won the ‘Best School Leaver & or Apprenticeship Development Programme’ at the Institute of Student Employers Awards 2023 as well as being the Regional Winner for ‘Large Employer of the Year’ at the National Apprenticeship Awards – South West Region 2023. Boeing also placed 7 Top Employer at Rate My Apprenticeship.
This 28-month Programme is aimed at developing highly motivated individuals into professional Aircraft Engineers to assist in the delivery of a world-class engineering maintenance operation across our various sites within the UK.
During this programme successful candidates will learn about and get practical hands on experience of maintaining aircraft on either fixed wing or rotary platforms such as the Chinook, Apache, P-8A, E-7 Wedgetail or C-17 Globemaster.
The chosen candidates will study towards their Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge Qualification, as well as a Level 2 and 3 Development Competence Qualification in Aircraft Maintenance and other specialist training. During the apprenticeship, candidates will be trained in all disciplines; airframe, propulsion and avionics.
Tasks you will carry out:
Perform routine scheduled aircraft maintenance.
Perform unscheduled defect rectification.
Perform aircraft modifications.
Use and follow approved maintenance documentation.
Adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Work to given time scales.
Work alongside skilled engineers to provide you with the knowledge needed to become fully trained.
You will also be expected to respond quickly to changing demands throughout your working day.
Course Outline
Months 1-10 working towards Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification and completion of Level 2 Foundation Competence qualification at International Centre for Aerospace Training (ICAT). Accommodation is provided during this time.
Months 11-28 working towards Level 3 Development Competence qualification and completion of Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification, with on the job training at one or more of our Boeing UK sites which may include; AAC Middlewallop, RAF Odiham, RAF Brize Norton or RAF Lossiemouth.
