Job Description:
FAA certified Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic accurately examines, inspects, repairs, and maintains aircraft components including engines, landing gear, brakes, air conditioning systems, hydraulic systems, aircraft structures, functional components, and parts such as wings, fuselage, rigging, oxygen systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, gaskets, and seals.
 
Other duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Examining replacement aircraft parts for defects
  • Diagnosing mechanical or electrical problems
  • Repairing brakes
  • Repairing electrical systems and other aircraft components 
  • Replacing defective parts using hand tools or power tools
  • Testing aircraft parts and equipment with gauges and diagnostic equipment to ensure proper operation 
  • Using precision instruments to measure wear and identify defects
  • Repairing metal, fabric, wood, or composite materials that make up the airframe and skin
  • Inspecting completed work to ensure that it meets performance and safety standards and FAA requirements
  • Keeping timely and accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
Qualified candidates must be able to read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

Job Requirements:
  • Read & interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins and specifications
  • Keep timely and accurate records.
  • A high school diploma/GED
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate  
  • Knowledge of all current FAA regulations
  • A commitment to safety
  • A minimum of 2 years experience required. 
  • Turbine & avionics experience a plus. 
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills
  • Strong computer & math skills 
  • Valid driver’s license. 
  • Good sense of humor a plus. 
  • This position requires satisfactory background check, pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening in compliance with FAA regulations.
Primary shift is 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Mon. through Fri. with occasional weekends, evening, and holiday hours required.
On rare occasions, travel is required.
