Job Description:

Under the direction of the Site Operations Manager, this position will modify, troubleshoot, repair and inspect all aircraft structures, both primary and secondary on the aircraft. Operate test equipment and tooling used in the repair of aircraft structures. Interpret technical manuals and Engineering data to support tasks. Complete assigned tasks within the allocated man-hour budgets and on schedule while maintaining quality standards and performing the tasks within the guidelines of all safety and regulatory regulations and requirements.

  • Performs structural repairs/alterations in accordance with FARs, manufacturer’s technical publications and drawings and within Service Center Network schedules and FAA standards and regulations.
  • Manufactures form and molding blocks.
  • Produces sketches of work to be accomplished for inspection/stress approval and record keeping.
  • Lays out and forms angles, channels, zee sections and hat sections.
  • Is knowledgeable about oxygen and pressure line hazards.
  • Fabricates sheet metal parts requiring flanges and contouring.
  • Manufactures and install oxygen and water systems, galleys, and toilet areas.
  • Sets up and operates heavy machine tools including but not limited to power brakes and shears.
  • Is able to execute a complete job from a set of drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions to a complete installation requiring estimating, crewing and arranging material requirements.
  • Troubleshoots and corrects gasper air, water, headers, tambour and sliding doors and other related functional items.
  • Completes personal daily item ticket with accuracy and completeness.
  • Works in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and Company Procedures advising the Supervisor immediately of any unsafe or hazardous equipment or working facility.
  • Maintains a clean working area.
  • Completes his/her work within allocated man-hours and on schedule.
  • Performs all work to F.A.A. and DFJ standards.
  • Performs fabrication and installation of Avionics pitot static systems, flight controls and associated airframe systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains knowledge of current EPA regulations and applicable F.A.R.s.
  • Understands and complies with all DAS employee work rules.
Job Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred with additional courses in structural repair and alteration work in recognized service or technical school.
  • Must be able to read and interpret aircraft diagrams, charts, structural repair drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must not be allergic to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids and cleaning solvents.
  • Understand airframe systems such as flight controls and slats.
  • Turbine jet aircraft structural repair training and/or experience – preferable on Falcon aircraft.
  • F.A.A. “Airframe” license preferred.
