The Boeing Company is seeking an Assembler Power Plant B to join our teams supporting Boeing Commercial Airplanes in either our Everett or Kent, locations in Washington State! This is an exciting opportunity providing engines and strut preparation for installation on aircraft wings for all models.


As an Assembler Power Plant B, mechanics in this position will install electrical components, pneumatic ducting, engine mounts, environmental equipment, exhaust sleeves, fire, fuel and hydraulic plumbing, and cowling assemblies to build up engines and struts in preparation for installation on aircraft wing for all models.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and/or specification

  • Using a computer in a production environment

  • Load and unload engine and/or struts from shipping buckets into assembly jigs by use of overhead crane or other handling equipment (e.g. portable crane).

  • Obtain kitted (pre-picked) or detail parts, standards, and assemblies from satellite storage carts.

  • Ensure that parts issued are correct for the engine and airplane model and are free of visible defects.

  • Pre-assemble and build up components for any or the entire engine or strut systems (e.g. wiring harnesses and tubing assemblies) per drawing and IP using both power and hand tools. Kit completed sub-assemblies and other components for installation.

  • Torque of fasteners, B-nut and installation of lock wire, safety cables and cotter pins per drawing. Seal hydraulic fittings and access doors, as required by drawing.

  • Other installations include hot and cool air ducts for Thermal Anti Icing (TAI) systems and pre-coolers, exhaust ducts, hydraulic control valves, generators, electrical ground brackets, wires, screws, or modules, wire bundles, throttle cables and rigging.

  • Wire bundles that require routing, wire ties, bond and solder electrical components, and installation of connectors.

  • Use chemical lubricants, solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints and special finishes. Dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner

  • Inspect work for quality and check for FOD (Foreign Object Debris)

  • Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g., scissors lifts, elevated work platforms)

This position will require the following on a daily basis:

  • Continuous (6-8 Hrs) Flexion/extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), Lying down (back, side, front), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist, walking

  • Continuous (6-8 Hrs) bending at the waist, handling (holding/grasping), standing

  • Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/pulling up to 35 pounds

  • Continuous (6-8 Hrs) Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), Crawling, Crouching (squatting)

  • Finger manipulation (keyboarding, other)

  • Reading from a computer screen, printed drawings or documents

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tool

  • Experience reading engineering blueprints/drawings

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Attended a Boeing partnered manufacturing related high school or community and technology college academic program

  • 1+ years experience using MS Office Applications

Summary pay range: $23.50 - $42.55 per hour
