SUMMARY: Responsible for assuring that maintenance tasks and functions are carried out in compliance with the applicable requirements of the air carrier maintenance program and its inspection procedures manual.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct and reassign maintenance manpower in response to workload requirements.Ensure that all work performed by self or persons under their supervision, whether in-house or by a subcontractor, is performed in an airworthy manner and in compliance with approved technical data and has had all maintenance steps accomplished.Provide resolution and problem solving were needed to ensure that the customer product is returned to them with the highest level of quality and in a timely manner which satisfies, as best possible, their needs.Schedule and ensure that training is being provided at all levels and encourage cross training of employees to ensure that only qualified personnel are performing maintenance in the area(s) assigned.Organize the shop in a manner which includes manufacturing best practices and work to continuously improve workflow efficiency.Will manage and make entries, as needed, in Auto-Time, to ensure labor hours are appropriately charged to jobs and payroll is consistent with times worked by employees in their area(s).Ensure Leads are performing to the standards and expectations, as assigned to them.Develop and manage workload within their assigned area(s) of responsibility.Regular and prompt attendance.Will maintain effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.Perform other duties as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other duties as assigned.Some travel may be required.
AUTHORITY: Direct and reassign maintenance manpower in response to workload requirements. Evaluate employees.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, interviewing and training; development of technical and leadership skills; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY: Carry out primary responsibility in educating, preventing and managing safety in the workplace. Duties shall include observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensuring that employees are provided with full information on area specific safety orientation, identify all unique hazards, and provide employees with the proper equipment to carry out their jobs in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be routinely inspected so as to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Must hold/ be eligible to obtain appropriate current airman’s certificate in accordance with FAR 65 and must have practical experience in the procedures, practices, inspection methods, material, tools, machine tools, and equipment generally used in the work for which the station is rated within the last 18 months.Minimum of 18 months’ component maintenance leadership experience.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear, and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and handle and climb ladders and aircraft stairs.
ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate to high. May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
