JOB SUMMARY:

  • To assist in testing, modifying, building, installing, and inspecting of mechanical and structural aircraft assemblies, sub-assemblies per engineering specifications.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to perform their daily tasks with little to no leadership guidance in accordance to engineering drawings or preliminary drawings where considerable judgement and ingenuity is required to complete work assignments.
  • Coordinates experimental activities closely with the Engineering Department to analyze and interpret incomplete and preliminary engineering data and specifications.
  • Keeps experimental aircraft properly licensed and maintained. Accounts for records on all components, test articles and consigned equipment.
  • Uses precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, and all types of gages and indicators.
  • Responsible to act as a liaison cross-functionally and between leaders.
  • Responsible for leading, guiding, and directing other employees on experimental needs.
  • Responsible for training new and current experimental team members on processes and procedures.
  • Responsible to coordinate daily work assignments in conjunction with supervision.
  • Responsible for project(s) success/failure for the portion they are performing.
  • Responsible for providing status updates to all stakeholders (verbal and/or written format)
  • Collaborates with Management, Shop Leads, other Experimental team members.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant license preferred.
Job Requirements:

EDUCATION:

  • High School education or equivalent is required.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant license preferred.


EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to read complex blueprints and drawings, advanced shop math and knowledge of aircraft manufacturing principles.
  • Minimum of 5 years. preferred 10 years sheet metal, tooling, fabrication, airframe assembly, or related experience required.
  • Must strongly exhibit Textron and Textron Aviation values and business conduct guidelines. Strengths include strong peer relationships, conflict management, action oriented, approachability, and able to deal with ambiguity.
