Pacific Coastal Airlines (PCA) is looking for a Line Maintenance Lead! This position is based out of a hanger located near South Terminal at the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond.

The Maintenance Department at PCA fosters a team environment. The broad scope of maintenance that PCA carry out provide team members with a complete experience with line maintenance, heavy maintenance, troubleshooting and major component changes in both M1 and M2 aircrafts. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Line Maintenance Lead is responsible for driving a high level of line aircraft maintenance reliability by ensuring timely completion of all required maintenance tasks and functions in compliance with prescribed Company and Regulatory Quality Assurance and workmanship standards.  This specifically includes the day-to-day leadership, support, supervision and operational and quality control on a shift duty basis of a diverse group of Maintenance team members including: aircraft maintenance engineers, apprentices and groomers. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to their direct reports and provides supportive leadership oversight and control as delegated by the Maintenance Manager to:

  • Ensure all work is conducted in a structured, organized, efficient and economical fashion, without sacrificing employee safety, or the quality standards prescribed the Company
  • Provide guidance, organization and control of conduct of engineers, mechanics, and groomers working in their direct supervision
  • Coordinate maintenance operations on all line aircraft under his/her supervision operated by the Company. This may include assisting the Maintenance Manager in scheduling of maintenance, rostering of personnel and ordering of materials
  • Ensure parts required for the completion of work are ordered, and when the tasks are completed, that the parts are issued to the appropriate card
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in a safe manner as mandated by the Canadian Aviation and Labour Canada Regulations and according to prescribed standards set out in the Company’s Maintenance Control Manual and Safety Management System manual
  • Provide continuous formal and informal performance feedback to AMEs and Apprentices and to complete probationary and annual employee evaluations on employees when requested by the MCM
  • Uphold and enforce all performance policies and standards in order to build a strong team and foster positive employee morale

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Currently holds a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License
  • Holder of a valid Company-issued ACA (Aircraft Certification Authority) on all base aircraft
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage assigned workloads and organize crew schedules
  • Possesses effective interpersonal skills to interact with internal employees and direct reports along with external department personnel
  • Has full understanding of company MCM, MSM, MPM and SMS manuals
  • Must be self- motivated, possess strong leadership attributes and be able to work well with others

 

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and legislation such as CARs, Canada Labour Code, etc. as well as how regulatory bodies operate and interrelate
  • Full understanding of company MCM, MSM, MPM and SMS manuals
  • Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Planning, forecasting, goal setting, budgeting and financial analysis skills
  • Ability to support, coach, mentor, develop, and inspire others
  • Intermediate technical skills in Microsoft Office
  • Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible to work various shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays) including overnight travel
