As a Mechanical Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for supporting our LSS sliding shoe sorter program. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects and deliver high-quality products and services. Your expertise in mechanical engineering principles, methodologies, and understanding of mechanical component relationships will contribute to the overall productivity and effectiveness of the mechanical engineering function.

You will report directly to our Senior Engineering Program Supervisor and youll work out of our Mason, OH location on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will have a significant impact on the design and execution of LSS sorter projects, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and compile the engineering parts lists to rebuild sliding shoe sorters
  • Upgrade legacy sortation systems to the latest mechanical standards (performance, safety, reliability)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Participate in field execution of aftermarket services projects
  • Support other LSS engineering functions, specifically obsolescence planning, as required
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred)
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
