Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Structure Assembler A220 to join their team based in Mobile, AL. 

The Aircraft Structure Assembler is a critical part of the aircraft assembly process. The position requires previous knowledge of aircraft structure assembly and skill to complete the allocated tasks on Quality and On time.

The Structure Assembler must possess a high level of integrity, the ability to communicate clearly, and be flexible to work across three shifts. The Structure Assembler must be able to work alone and as part of a team in a high pressure environment to enable the delivery of a High Quality Aircraft and On Time Delivery to internal customers (TAKT).

• Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your challenges:

● Complete allocated tasks on Time and on Quality. 

● Understand the Qualification process and be a SI (self inspector) stamp holder within the first 6 months on Station. 

● Understand the build process and specifications within your allocated Structures Station. 

● Coordination with other team members to ensure delivery schedule is met. 

● Work in compliance with production work orders and supporting documents. (e.g. Quality standards, drawings and SOI’s)

Your boarding pass:

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.

• 2 years minimum experience in Aviation Production or equivalent 

• Previous hands-on experience with drilling tools, templates, drilling machines, fasteners, and torquing tools

Preferred:

•  5&43; years minimum experience in Aviation Production 

               Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): 

       ●     Effective verbal and written communication skills. 

               Technical Systems Proficiency: 

       ●     Able to enter, generate and retrieve information using a computer (SAP and Excel                                           

               knowledge required).

This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.
