The AMR Accounting Manager – ensures the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of accounting information, recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions in the Subledgers & General Ledger. The AMR Accounting Manager – is accountable for overseeing US and Trinidad accounting and customer billing teams and responsible to ensure accounting practices are aligned to corporate policies, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS, as applicable. This role will support Americas operational team and ensure accurate, timely reporting of operational results, and drives accurate billing, and timely customer collections.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the month end close for US, Trinidad, Guyana, Suriname, and other miscellaneous entities for AMR operations of Bristow
Oversee the AMR Customer Billing Supervisor and team to track contracted revenue and reimbursable billings accurately and efficiently for the business
Continually work to improve efficiency in business processes while maintaining high standards for internal controls for the business
Liaise with the Bristow Global Shared Services team to cover needs they may have regarding AMR Inventory, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Long-Term Leases.
Oversee the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts at the end of the month to identify discrepancies and work to resolve differences. Primarily covers Cash, AR, Prepaids, Accrued Costs
Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement analysis and research balance sheet and profit and loss account variances
Oversee the performance of SOX controls critical to the close process to ensure compliance with the company’s accounting policies and procedures
Support audit efforts from both external and internal audits covering AMR financial data
Assist in the preparation of internal process documentation
Develop and utilize in depth knowledge of the Company’s financial reporting tools (OneStream) and general ledger and accounting package (SAP) to gather information for internal reporting
Mentor team members to drive quality and individual responsibility among team members. Offer opportunities for development across your team
Coordinate needs from Tax and Treasury in execution of their work covering AMR
Ad Hoc requests, schedules, and reports
Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, with 5-10 years accounting experience, and 3 years supervisory experience
Knowledge of US-GAAP accounting
Must have ERP General Ledger accounting experience, preferably SAP
Experience in working with legal entities and foreign currencies across international locations
Experience working in a global, international organization
Experience working with consolidation packages – Hyperion, OneStream is a plus.
SKILLS:
Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate, summarize, and present information clearly to audiences with different backgrounds and at different levels of the organization and external stakeholders
Strong analytical and investigative skills, persistent to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciliations in timely manner
Strong computer literacy including SAP, MS office, strong Excel skills, OneStream a plus
Good team player: willingness to assist/ mentor team members as required
Ability to manage priorities, focus on the key issues, meet deadlines, and remain empathetic in managing a team
