Summary
This position will be responsible for many of the day-to-day finance activities including but not limited to month end close and inventory and costing systems.
Essential Functions
Inventory management and valuation: set and periodically change standards and charging rates. Refines and maintains the integrity of the plant’s SAP Inventory by verifying the accuracy of production and stores inventory while maintaining clean cut offs for month, quarter and year end. Work in coordination with production control for cycle counts and physical inventories.
Month, quarter and year end closes along with analysis and reconciliations. Assist in month-end close process within deadlines.
Review, analyze, and reconcile GL accounts including but not limited to accounts payables, accounts receivables, cash, pre-paid, fixed assets, and accrued liabilities.
Work with internal and external auditors for Financial and SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) reviews and improvements. Provide leadership to strengthen internal control environment and maintain SOX section 404 compliance, coordinating plant SOX program under guidance from Controller.
Assist with the preparation and review of company financial statements and statistical reporting, including journal entries.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial analyses for significant transactions, and major capital expenditure proposals; present leadership team with a clear and concise review of current and projected operating results.
Exercise strong leadership skills including communications and teamwork between finance, operating groups, division and corporate staff.
Partner with the General Manager, Plant Controller and other members of the leadership team; provide advice and counsel on a wide range of issues facing the business.
Facilitate timely development of financial plans, including sales, profits, capital spending, standard cost, cash flow and balance sheets. Proactively assess key assumptions underlying operating plans; identify major risks and opportunities and compare to management expectations.
Support sales through review of quotes consistent with corporate profit objectives.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure efficient reviews of financial data and controls.
Support and assist the budget generation process.
Additional Responsibilities
Will work very closely with plant operations, maintenance, continuous improvement, and engineering to help these departments continue to reduce costs as new requirements and reports are needed.
Finance representative at plant Material Review Board meetings.
Planning and coordination of annual plant and outside converter physical inventories. This includes the metal and MRO inventories, Outside processors at all sites, and outside storage locations.
Perform special projects as needed.
Education and Experience
CPA or MBA preferred.
BS/BA - Accounting or Finance with 5 to 10 years of experience in similar job function.
Special Skills
Microsoft office experience with extensive knowledge of Excel. SAP knowledge preferred.
Good working knowledge of general accounting principles with a working knowledge of Full Cost Absorption (FCA).
Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Detailed, accurate, and organized with the ability to work independently and as a self-starter.
Working knowledge of LEAN/TOC principles.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Must be able to responsibly handle confidential information.
Salary Min $105,200 - Max $131,400.
