We are looking for an EASA Flight Training Lead to be based at our Dublin office.

Reporting to the Head of Training you will support the management of Boeing Ireland’s EASA ATO as an integral part of the ATO management team.

You will spend part of you time in the Dublin office but will also be an active instructor/examiner (qualifications permitting) delivering training an our satellite campuses primarily London Gatwick, UK. Your will act as both an EASA subject matter expert and a focal pot for communications with the regulator (IAA) as and when necessary.

When in the role of Simulator Flight Instructor, you will be responsible for the conduct of the highest quality full-flight simulator-based instruction for customer flight crews receiving initial, transition, differences and/or recurrent training in accordance with Boeing standards, regulatory guidelines and the approved syllabus.

The individual will train, to a high standard, customer flight crews in the safe and efficient operation of large commercial airplanes or other aerospace products or systems by providing accurate technical information through the use of state-of-the-art procedures, training equipment and methods.  The individual may also conduct, as tutor, training of new TRIs and SFIs. The individual may also partake in course development and trial tasks as directed by Head of Training.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the delivery of EASA flight simulation and theoretical knowledge instruction in accordance with BIL ATO documentation and procedures

  • Providing guidance to the team on matters pertaining to EASA/IAA and being available as a Subject Matters Expert to EASA instructors delivering training remotely at the various satellite centres.

  • Oversight of EASA training records and other required reports to ensure they are being maintained accurately and in a timely manner, by working closely with the ATO training centers, EASA Administrators/FTAs who collate, maintain and forward these records and reports in compliance with ATO requirements.

  • Liaising with BIL local team to maintain the serviceability of the Dublin ATO office, systems and communications links. Supported by the Dublin ATO Administrator.

  • Acting as a local point of contact for the IAA and for ensuring effective communication of all EASA ATO matters with the HT & CMM.

  • Supporting the HT as required in the management of the ATO including the hosting of monthly operational reviews.

  • Together with the Dublin ATO Administrator planning and facilitating customer and regulatory body visits concerning EASA training to the ATO centers for local compliance or safety audits or inspections, and planning conferences or similar measures to ensure compliance with their requirements.

  • Conduct flight crew training and checking  of customer pilots at ATO satellite locations.

  • Conduct, as tutor, training of new TRIs and SFIs both in the classroom and in the simulator.

  • Under the direction of Head of Training, Chief Flight Instructor and Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor, uphold Boeing instructional standards, including the conduct of Standardisation Checks on other Boeing and contract instructors.

Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in the ROI. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the ROI/EU. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants. The right to also work in UK would be an advantage.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess right to work in the EU

  • Hold the appropriate EASA TRI, SFI, TRE or SFE authorisation.

  • Possess experience with a scheduled/non-scheduled multi-engine jet transport carrier, corporate jet operator, or military equivalent, amounting to at least 2000 hours and preferably including at least 1000 hours as Pilot In Command in commercial jet transport airline service.

  • Hold or have held an EASA Airline Transport Pilots Licence with multi-engine jet instrument rating including a multi-engine jet type rating.

  • Relevant instructional work experience demonstrating the ability to prepare a lesson plan, interpret and present technical material, and independently teach on a specific aeroplane type.

  • Have a minimum of three years instructional and/or evaluating experience on transport category aircraft with suitable experience as a simulator instructor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess right to work in the UK

  • Have experience of training instructors, preferably as tutor on TRI and SFI courses.

  • Be able to speak, understand, read and write English to ICAO Level 6 standard; be able to communicate clearly and accurately using both verbal and written communications.

  • Have supervisory/management experience in an Airline Training Department or commercial ATO

  • Hold the appropriate UK CAA TRI,SFI,TRE or SFE authorisation.

  • Hold or have held a UK CAA Airline Transport Pilots Licence with multi-engine jet instrument rating including a multi-engine jet type rating.

Work Environment:

  • Regularly required to work in a confined space of a flight simulator, with a noise level that is usually moderate.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to focus.

  • Requires a range of body motion to perform the following: 1) reach, exert pressure and manipulate the rudder controls/brakes with both feet; 2) reach and manipulate numerous controls while on the flight deck; 3) fully operate the Instructor Operating Station controls and be able to visually and aurally monitor pilots under training in a flight simulator environment; 4) enter and exit the flight deck of the simulator, including using emergency egress equipment in the event of an emergency.

  • Regular (Weekly) travel to London Gatwick Fight Training Campus

  • Occasional requirement to travel internationally to conduct duties on behalf of Boeing
