We believe that inclusion helps us thrive and grow at United across our collaborative Finance teams consisting of Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Treasury, Global Procurement, Controllership, Investor Relations and more. These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost-effective sourcing and timely delivery of conventional and increasingly SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) is essential to an airline’s operation and financial results The Manager Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) PMO will own the day-to-day responsibilities as the ETRM system vendor liaison, deliver impactful projects and programs serving as change agent across multiple functions in the organization. Responsible to provide prioritization, direction, and structure to enable efficient implementation of assigned projects and initiatives including supporting maintenance of master data and user access control of ETRM system and its works with other internal and external systems. Lead all aspects of fuel ETRM systems administration, controls and the development of enhancements and interfaces

  • Management of overall project management life cycle – requirements, design, build, test & deploy for projects related to the ETRM system including partner management and organization change management
  • Lead periodic and ad-hoc ETRM system patches and version upgrades
  • Support business process improvement and support development and implementation of improvements and interfaces
  • Lead department master data updates and coordinate user access levels and controls within ETRM system
  • Collaborate within team and with internal and external IT business partners for continued process optimization and implementation
  • Deliver high quality reporting that advises functional teams, leadership steering and decision-making on project status, risks, issues and mitigation plans
  • Assist team members in navigating the ETRM system and research operational and performance data to provide statistics trends to address issues

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting. Supply Chain, Technology
  • 5+ years of experience in similar function
  • Application of Project Management methods
  • Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task & adapt to shifting priorities
  • Lead multiple projects effectively
  • Knowledge of Scrum / Agile methodologies
  • Experience with transportation fuel, aviation fuels
  • Proficient in data analysis and visualization, reporting and business intelligence tools
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
  • Job availability is 24/7 with minimal travel required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Masters degree
  • PMP, CAPM
  • Prior experience with ETRM system implementation
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead multiple projects concurrently with prioritization
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel with knowledge of PowerBI, SQL
  • Familiarity with ETRM systems such as ION RightAngle
