Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, management, operation, maintenance and financial performance of the MRO facility and services.This position will ensure compliance with all rules, regulations, and policies as issued by Management of the Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration, and other pertinent authorities.They are responsible for all aspects of the MRO including proper delivery of services, condition of facility, staffing,equipment and maintenance of the same.Takes lead role maintaining existing business and developing new business by monitoring margins, negotiating labor rates and/or hangar agreements and problem resolution with customer base.Work with FBO General Manager and will serve as representative for MRO when dealing with managing entity of home airport.

 General Duties

  • Supervise and facilitate performance of the Operations Manager, and all other direct reports.
  • Ensure that the site operations are conducted in accordance with company, local, state, and federal requirements
  • Foster a work culture based on Atlantic values, with an emphasis on safety.
  • Continually evaluate and execute opportunities to improve the site’s financial performance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between local and corporate staff.
  • Representation of Atlantic Aviation in a professional and positive manner
  • Application of the principles of the “Atlantic Attitude” at all times.
  • Compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Interaction with customers, vendors, and Atlantic Aviation employees in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Communication of work progress and significant issues with the Regional Manager or other appropriate corporate representative
  • Accountable for the adherence to Atlantic standards by all site staff.
  • Application of the principles of the “Atlantic Attitude” at all times.

Job Requirements:

Essential duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Develop and maintain site practices and procedures that contribute to a safe, profitable, positive, and enjoyable work environment.
  • Train, coach, evaluate, and develop subordinate staff in accordance with established procedures.
  • Responsible for development and preparation of hourly and supervisory personnel for possible promotion and advancement within the company.
  • Works with department managers to ensure proper staffing at all times.
  • Organize periodic site meetings and design other communication flows between staff and management.
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with Airport management, airline and general aviation users alongside FBO General Manager.
  • Periodically inspect training records and site internal quality assurance inspections to ensure proper completion.
  • Assist departmental managers in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting job candidates.
  • Create sales initiatives to improve revenue sources, and participate in regional and corporate marketing efforts.
  • Develop and maintain productive customer relationships.
  • Monitor, control, and approve site expenses.
  • Ensuring facility and equipment is well maintained and repaired as necessary.
  • Prepare the annual capital and operating budgets for review with Regional Maintenance Manager.
  • Analyze monthly financial performance and report results to the appropriate regional and corporate staff as specified.
  • Adjust labor rates and part margins as needed.
  • Maintains a readiness to handle emergencies including Airport Emergency Procedures and for providing medical aid as required.
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the Federal Aviation Administration.
  • When assigned to an FAA certificated Part 145 Repair Station;
    • Act as Accountable Manager.
    • Ensure the Repair Station personnel follow the regulations and serve as primary contact with the FAA.
    • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the assigned Principle Maintenance Inspector (PMI).
    • Participate in the evaluation, design and implementation of expansion and promotion of facilities and capabilities.
    • Assist the Chief Inspector to ensure the Repair Station does not perform maintenance outside the scope of its FAA Operation Specifications.
    • Ensure the Repair Station is in compliance with its drug and alcohol testing program.
    • Perform annual review of overall training needs assessment and technician assessments with Chief Inspector and Operations Manager.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University, preferably in Business Administration, Aviation Management, or related field of study is preferred.
  • At least ten (10) years of progressive experience in MRO management, the airline industry or the equivalent in an aviation related field.
  • Demonstrated financial, administrative and management capability.
  • Aptitude in supervising and developing staff.
  • Must maintain a valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and perform basic math calculations with minimal errors.
  • Ability to complete tasks accurately within established timelines.
  • Ability to work well with others including local and remote offices.
  • Satisfactory completion of criminal background check, meeting requirements set forth by the Company as well as TSA (as required by location).
  • Flexible work schedule may include working overtime, nights, on weekends, holidays and be on call.
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
