Landing Gear
Bring your experience and ideas and help us bring the highest quality products and service to our customers. This role will be an integral part of the manufacturing team. This position will lead and provide support to the Aeronautical Accessories Landing Gear department and any other assigned teams by assisting departmental management, while also performing daily functional tasks and assignments.
What you’ll be doing as Landing Gear Lead
- Perform all shop floor tasks needed in landing gear area, including assembly, drilling, countersinking, bending, and riveting
- Prioritize workload and labor efficiency in order to assist the department manager in meeting department production schedules / expectations
- Assign and prioritize specific tasks
- Create and sign Engineering Change Requests as needed
- Provide regular product status updates to manager and interested parties
- Lead team and provide technical guidance and assistance based on previous experience
- Provide training on machine maintenance, and drawing/specification reading, and other tasks as needed
- Train fabricators/technicians to perform landing gear bending, drilling, and assembly functions
- Monitor and report performance of assigned employees
- Assist with discovery, root cause analysis, correction, and tracking on any product we experience challenges during the manufacturing process
- Ensure productions standards are met and high-quality products are produced
- Ensure production area remains clean, FOD-free, and organized
- Demonstrate safe work habits and always wear proper PPE
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, production standards, and Textron Business Conduct guidelines
- Exhibit and promote Textron value and behaviors at all times, and provide positive leadership
- Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Capable of standing for extended periods during the entire duration of shift
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
- Flexibility to bend, stoop, and crouch as required for tasks.
- Good vision, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and potential issues.
- Willingness to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
