Job overview and responsibilities

Responsible for cargo operations performance per assigned countries/stations within the Australia, New ealand and Tahiti region. This position is responsible for all aspects of cargo including: audits, metric improvement, data gathering/analysis, safety/regulatory compliance, vendor relationships and ensuring station has all tools to be a successful cargo operation to meet cargo revenue and profitability targets.

This position has project management and implementation responsibilities to drive continuous improvement of operational processes, cost control, reporting and metrics. Projects include facility planning, contract strategy, station start ups and transitions, technology implementation, capital procurement, and training and audit development and implementation.

  • Influence performance via internal/external cross functional teaming; design & implement transparency/accountability tools, service level agreements and performance reports for internal and external customers; facilitate and enable accountability/transparency/prioritization of cargo operational metrics to meet/exceed customer expectations; continuous improvement of field processes, warehouse processes, vendor processes, service level agreements, metrics, reporting and tools
  • Enforcer of all Company and Governmental policies, procedures and mandates which include, but are not limited to safety, training, administration, staffing, leadership development, security directives, FAA, DOT, TSA, CBP, Local Host Government, and other contractual requirements; oversee, coordinate, and support training compliance for the region; serve as subject matter expert on Cargo policies, Cargo procedures, Regional Mail Operations, International operating guidelines and standards, and Ground Security Coordinator; provide technical guidance, interpret company policies, and procedures to assist employees / service partners in performing functional tasks and to ensure that safety, security and service are delivered consistently.
  • Root cause analysis (vendor and UA), trend analysis, region/station performance oversight, station visits, quarterly presentations, manage ops anomalies; lead and develop skills of service partner staff with the goal of delivering consistent and excellent customer service and delivering a quality product in accordance with Company guidelines and KPIs; travel to and from stations performing QC Audits, Corp Security audits, QBRs, and GHA Operations evaluations
  • Co-developer of the region’s financial budget, control operational expenses, and reduce/mitigate fines and claims due to service failures; maintain a positive interactive relationship with the Cargo Sales team to assist and support in developing strategies and programs aimed to increase revenue
  • Management of other stations as required due to business and operational needs

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Unless subject to a collective bargaining agreement in the country to which an employee is being transferred; the employee retains their original date of employment and company seniority in the new country. Upon transfer, the employee is removed from payroll and benefits in former country and appropriately placed in the salary range and payroll / benefits systems of the new country.

Human Resources will assist with the terms and conditions of employment in light of labor agreements, collective agreements, country work rules and labor laws. In the new country, the employee is reinstated using the same employee id, date of employment and company seniority dates.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 2 years experience in cargo, warehouse or related operations
  • Ability to work and influence cross functionally
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations
  • Analytical and influencing skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Australia for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Must be able to travel up to 30 of the time
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Masters degree
  • 5 years experience in cargo, warehouse or related operations
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
