The Bombardier Defense team is working on developing variants and derivatives of our cutting-edge Challenger and Global platforms; special missions ranging from medical evacuation to transporting heads of state to aerial surveillance. In this role, you will oversee a team to deliver Bombardier Defense programs on the international stage.

What are your contributions to the team?

 

  • Lead a team of program managers to drive the execution of key multi-million/multi-year programs. 
  • Track program requirements, scope, budget. 
  • Track the detailed program schedules and milestones.
  • Perform continuous risk management. 
  • Act as the face of the organization to external customers for escalation issues. 
  • Holds P&L oversight for assigned programs and is accountable for overall customer satisfaction and building strong external business relationships. 
  • Provides direct oversight during the negotiation, proposal and commercial impact phases for contractual change management throughout the program execution.
  • Direct work to achieve milestones per committed schedule and budget – ensuring proactive risk assessment and contingency management.
  • Has intimate knowledge of contractual requirements for assigned programs and ensures timely execution and administration of programs to remain in compliance with such requirements.
  • Establish a strong governance for weekly Program reviews; including internal executive reviews and external customer reviews.
  • Coordinate with internal resources/stakeholders such as engineering, contracts, finance and logistics during Program execution to remove roadblocks. 
  • The position has responsibility for leadership and building a strong and inclusive team and helping each team members develop professionally.
  • Establishes balanced customer-focused and business focused performance indices and directs work to achieved these targets.
How to thrive in this role? Skills, knowledge & experience:

 

  • You hold a Bachelors Degree in Engineering (or equivalent). 
  • You have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in program management; or equivalent experience. 
  • Demonstrated responsibility in program management and execution; team leadership is an asset. 
  • You are team player with initiative and excellent communication skills. 
  • Strong customer-facing skills and experience are required. 
  • You have the ability to effectively negotiate in-line with business objectives. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong business relationships and credibility and interact with key internal stakeholders and external customers. 
  • You are able to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively while working toward aggressive deadlines. 
  • You have a strong working knowledge of Bombardiers policies and processes. 
  • You have a strong technical knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems and special mission equipment. 
  • You have knowledge of ITAR and previous experience in government and military flight operations exposure would be considered an asset. 
  • You may be required to travel and work extended hours when required. 
  • You are eligible to view and handle ITAR material as well as be able to obtain a NATO Secret security clearance (as required). Prior government operational experience or military experience is an asset.
