**This is a second shift position based in Melbourne, FL**

POSITION SUMMARY

Directs and coordinates personnel, activities concerned with assembly, interiors, paint/sealant and/or flight preparation of the aircraft - assuring the proper utilization of the available resources and products to be delivered as scheduled to customers within planned safety, quality and required cost.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure production outputs in compliance with Production Plan and Embraer standards for safety, quality and cost.
  • Manage behavior of people within responsibility and support their continuous professional development.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate staff to Embraer’s expected standards.
  • Ensure team has the proper tools, training and materials to complete work assignments.
  • Provide input for and assist in evaluating potential events that can impact schedule and or performance.
  • Assist the Operations Managers in developing strategies and projects to continuously improve production activities.
  • Assist the quality team to track and report technical issues and implement preventive/corrective actions.
  • Maintain management tools and reports to monitor performance related to budget and schedule.
  • Communicates area objectives, company policies, and procedures to employees. Ensures that employment law, health and safety guidelines are followed; and all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure all Embraer policies and procedures are adhered to, including, but not limited to: Foreign Object Elimination, Tool Control, Personal Protective Equipment, Attendance, etc.
  • Interact with customers and customer support personnel, as required.
  • Potentially supervise 20+ employees and contractors in a department.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Education and Experience:

  • BS in Business, Engineering, Aviation Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Prefer five (5) or more years working in a manufacturing/aviation environment. Prefer three (3) or more years in a leadership role.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Self-starter, passionate, high-performer, etc.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Solid knowledge of Lean Production Concepts.
  • Solid working knowledge of aircraft certification and maintenance requirements – strongly preferred.
  • Understand technical management and quality assurance procedures.
  • Able to build, motivate, train, coach, and manage teams.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Flexible work schedule to support delivery process.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project; MES; and SAP.
  • Understand technical management and quality assurance procedures.
  • Able to build, motivate, train, coach, and manage teams.
  • Able to present to customers, leadership and staff.

Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts as needed.
  • Ability to periodically work outdoors exposed to the elements
  • Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations, if a requirement of DOT regulations.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand, walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • May be required, on occasion, to be in a small confined area.
