Aviate is United Airlines, Inc.’s pilot career development program offering both aspiring flight students and commercial pilots a defined career path to potential employment as a First Officer with United. Aviate’s goal is to attract outstanding people who want to join the very best team of pilots in the aviation industry. Overview

The Aviate Sourcing and Engagement team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to support the execution of Aviate’s partnership strategy and coaching program. They will be responsible for identifying strong potential new partnerships as well as engaging and cultivating existing relationships to best support their connection with United and the Aviate program. This position supports a variety of pilot sourcing and engagement initiatives including Aviate, traditional hiring and military programs, and thus will require a comprehensive knowledge of all pilot sourcing initiatives. Assisting the Senior Manager – Aviate Sourcing and Engagement, this role supports, implements, and maintains relationships with pilot sourcing partners. This role requires strong leadership and presenting skills combined with the ability to work effectively across a wide range of internal and external partners. This position offers exciting opportunities for hands on experience in speaking publicly to large groups and leading meetings for key collaborators. We are looking for a candidate who is proactive and outgoing, who can work independently but also function as part of a fun, hardworking team. Responsibilities
  • Knowledgeable of Aviate program to ensure alignment and consistency across all partners and Aviate initiatives
  • Create and present information, program updates, and metrics to key team members and leadership
  • Provide ongoing support for program administration and communicate policy updates
  • Coordinate with multiple United teams including Communications, Creative, Marketing, Branding, IT, Travel Services, Legal, Talent Acquisitions and Recruitment, Labor Relations, to ensure program alignment.
  • Assists in leading partners and programs to bring quality pilots into the Aviate ecosystem and ultimately to United.
  • Work with Sr Program Manager – Aviate Sourcing and Engagement to identify opportunities to improve standardization of program execution across network of Aviate partners
  • Support Aviate marketing, branding, social, public relations, and communication efforts
  • Define, gather, analyze and illustrate program data to understand program performance metrics
  • Assist in the evaluation of new and existing partnerships
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, standard processes and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Support Aviate technology development to ensure adequate data sharing to meet program and partner needs
  • Attend industry conferences and events to maintain deep knowledge of competitive environment

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience or higher
  • 3+ years of airline/aviation business experience, or related field
  • Excellent presentation delivery skills
  • Organization skills and multitasking abilities
  • Must work well in a highly collaborative and fluid work environment
  • Communicating, facilitating, or addressing large audiences and key collaborators
  • Has knowledge of project management tools and techniques
  • Possesses solid communication, multitasking, & analytical skills as well as project management capabilities
  • Able to coordinate inter-departmentally
  • Ability to think strategically and recommend solutions to identified problem
  • Able to listen, assess and identify appropriate resources and communicate the solution
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Aviation/Aeronautics, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related field
  • Understands pilot recruitment processes and key drivers of professional skills development
  • Airline/aviation business experience
  • Experience working directly with pilot hiring/recruiting
  • Data analytics experience or related field
  • Private Pilot License (PPL) or higher
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis
