BT&E-India based in Bangalore, India is an integral part of BT&E and is engaged in engineering design build in areas including flight and ground testing of completed full-scale products and more.
Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) has an immediate opening for Software Project Manager, responsible for overseeing business and technical requirements, development, effort estimates, scheduling, implementation, testing, approvals, user documentation and customer deliverables.  This position require individuals who are passionate about delivering the best leadership, insights, and technology, by finding creative ways of aligning all of the releases within the Agile program to deliver maximum business value.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing Test & Evaluation software development program and ensures the overall goals and objectives of the business are met.
  • He/She will play a key role in defining, implementing, maintaining and improving processes, tools and metrics that govern and support the development and continuous improvement of the program.
  • Candidate will act as an execution lead closely partnering with the Business Team(Product Owners) & Scrum Teams to guide one Agile release train.
  • He/She will drive program level continuous improvement via Inspect & Adapt workshops and constant demonstration of a Kaizen mindset.
  • The selected candidate will apply the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe, www.scaledagileframework.com) methodology to facilitate release planning. Establish program level cadence and drive program level ceremonies (e.g. PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Release train retrospectives). Works with Business Team (Product Owners) to align business strategy, drives the definition and refinement of the program backlog and PI execution. Provides input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
  • Monitor, track and control change to the project documentation such as requirements, configuration, performance measures, cost, schedule, project organization structure and technology environment (release schedules, infrastructure changes, etc.) through formal version control.
  • Encourage Scrum teams to apply SAFe’s - Agile Software Engineering Practices for Achieving High Quality Code – including Agile architecture, continuous integration & deployment, Test driven development (TDD) and collective ownership.
  • Facilitate alignment dependencies between the Business Team, any third party software, devops personnel or between the Scrum teams. Serve as an escalation for impediment removal for the Scrum teams to assist them in becoming efficient and high-performing teams. Maintain metrics that provide visibility to stakeholders on program-level plans, progress and quality.
  • Analyze program performance measures to determine options and appropriate actions to increase project performance.  Coordinate and provide cost reporting and analysis on a regular schedule. Participate in Portfolio and Program Management process improvement and standardization activities.
  • Provide real time feedback to teams based on experiences with deliverables. Provide feedback and performance assessments to appropriate management in a timely manner and address and ensure conflict among project team members is resolved.
  • Continuously seek to expand and improve personal knowledge in the area of Agile project management best practices and assist in the development and promote adoption of new processes or changes to existing processes to mature the program/project management discipline.
  • This positions supports initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development, customer engagement etc.
  • This position will be located in the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center at Bangalore.
Skills Required
  • Agile Project Management or Scrum master working experience a must. Scrum Master Certification is preferred.
  • • Experience working with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) implementation and delivery. SAFe Certification(s) is preferred.
  • • Proven ability to lead complex software development projects and ensure objectives, goals and commitments are met
  • • Demonstrated knowledge of Agile Project Management best practices and processes
  • • Demonstrated knowledge of industry standard software development methodologies and life-cycles
  • • Must have experience working with cross-functional teams spread across multiple products and locations within Boeing and external partners, across different cultures and time-zones.
  • • Proficient in MS Office tool suite and Project Management software tools
  • • Experience using Tableau, R, .Net, SQL Developer and TFS is preferred
  • • Must have excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and software engineers at all levels including the executive level. Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively convey technical test results to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
  • • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating and team building
  • Bachelors in engineering preferably in software/IT or equivalent discipline with 8 or more years' experience in aerospace/aviation related application development.
