Boeing Test & Evaluation is seeking a Test Equipment Fabrication Technician Senior to join our team in El Segundo, CA.  This team manages the companys major commercial and government satellite and ground programs for communications, national defense, and other missions.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Determine method and sequence of construction, layout, fabricate, assemble, modify, repair, check out, calibrate, tune and troubleshoot all types of test equipment including Radio Frequency (RF), microwave, and millimeter wave test equipment, low and high-speed digital test equipment where complete specifications and design details are frequently lacking 

  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of electronics, RF/microwave principles, theories, and test techniques 

  • Monitor equipment calibration, construct test set-ups according to test procedures, and perform preventative maintenance on test equipment 

  • Provide verbal and written instructions requiring technical judgment to determine or develop the most effective methods, solutions and test procedures in support of the design, fabrication, assembly and test of associated microelectronics hardware 

  • Possess in depth knowledge of best method of construction and sequence of operations for fabrication, assembly, of highly complex prototype test equipment where few or no previous guidelines have been established, and a minimum of engineering assistance is available 

  • Layout circuitry, assemble, fabricate, and repair test equipment used to check out STE test equipment, units and component 

  • Develop and apply complex assembly, fabrication, various testing methods and procedures where complete specifications and details are often lacking. Determine sequence of operations, select appropriate test procedures 

  • Should be able to design test aids, bench checkout equipment, troubleshoot to component level, diagnose, and repair most electronic products 

  • Generate problems resolution procedures

  • May collect and coordinate the work collecting test data, summarize results, write test reports, complete standard documentation and make verbal presentations of findings

  • Maintain proficiency in use of hand and power tools, test instruments, and equipment required to perform duties

  • Perform incidental related duties as assigned. Maintain required certifications

  • May provide instruction, direction and/or assistance to personnel in same or lower related job 
     

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

 

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. 

  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 

  • Willing and able to work variable shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime

  • Knowledge on how to determine method and sequence of construction, layout, fabricate, assemble, modify, repair, check out, calibrate, tune and troubleshoot all types of test equipment including Radio Frequency (RF), microwave, and millimeter wave test equipment, low and high-speed digital test equipment where complete specifications and design details are frequently lacking

  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of electronics, RF/microwave principles, theories, and test techniques

  • Willing and able to monitor equipment calibration, construct test set-ups according to test procedures, and perform preventative maintenance on test equipment

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):  

  • Two-year technical degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics 

  • More than two years of experience in Mechanical Fabrication, assembly wiring for the build of electronic test equipment and testing of AC/DC and RF of fabricated equipment 

 

Relocation:  

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Summary pay range: $27.93/hour - $44.71/hour
