Location

Our location is just a stone&39;s throw away from Munich, the beautiful state capital of Bavaria. Do you like sports and other outdoor activities? The Alps and Lake Starnberg are just an hour away and offer a wide range of leisure activities.

Your regular place of work is Manching. Within the scope of your duties, you will be deployed at the Airbus Defense and Space location after your start at Airbus Protect until the end of the operational requirements. After your return, you will be deployed at your regular place of work.

This position is part of our Safety Business Unit, which aims to enable safer, greener and more inclusive industries and transportation systems.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Support the establishment of safety analyses for military aircraft systems, supporting all the phases during and after certification

  • Generating and update of assessments (Functional Hazard Assessment/System Safety Assessment) of intended design modifications to influence the system architecture according to the required System Safety/System Integrity

  • Determine the particular Safety requirements for system developments or modifications with respect to hardware and software

  • Establish requests for evidence (tests, simulation, analyses), as well as Procedures and Limitations for ground- and aircrew

  • Manage input from and output to interfacing technical domains and technology (processes, maintenance, human error, aircraft performance and quality, etc.)

  • Review, approval and application of supplier data regarding Safety and Reliability. Generating the System Safety Assessment documentation, based on traceable results and evidence, as mandatory proof to acquire the Type Certificate

Required qualification
The work task requires knowledge and skills that are usually acquired through a relevant, completed course of study with a standard period of study of up to 4 years in the area of aeronautical engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalant.  The overall knowledge and experience required may have been acquired in other ways.

Desired skills and competences

  • Knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility

  • First experience in the field of System Safety Engineering in the aviation industry

  • First experience with aircraft systems, preferentially for military aircrafts

  • Target-oriented with analytic problem-solving skills

  • Willing to learn new things

  • Able to perform several Systems Safety tasks in parallel

  • Team player, organized and autonomous person with good communication skills

  • Very good written and spoken English and German (B2)

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

This position may require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
