The Flight Operations Contract Strategy Consultant invests in the future of Southwests People by supporting the new Contract Strategy Team. This role develops the contract strategy for three unionized roles, which include Pilots, Flight Instructors, and Simulator Technicians in collaboration with the Labor Relations Department. The Flight Operations Contract Strategy Consultant is a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills who enjoys working in a dynamic environment to deliver efficient and effective solutions that drive the future of contract strategy at Southwest.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work at a Company facility at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities
Facilitate ideation sessions with Leadership and SMEs to identify pain points, opportunities, and potential solutions within Flight Operations labor contracts
Develop compelling business cases and presentation materials to effectively communicate new CBA concepts to all levels of Leadership
Collaborate with Labor Relations and Labor Administration on the best strategies to incorporate Flight Ops priorities into contract negotiations or the existing collective bargaining agreement (CBA)
Support labor contract negotiations through review of CBA proposals, providing impact analysis and assisting in the development of counter proposals
Facilitate discovery sessions of potentially new CBA language to help identify and document any new or modified business requirements
Partner with Labor Relations, Labor Administration and Technology to help drive new CBA language implementation planning and development of the delivery schedule
Provide support for any business readiness activities required by new or modified CBA language
Assist in the development of CBA educational or training materials
Provide in depth knowledge and insight of contractual proposals to disseminate accurate and timely information to FO Leaders and other departmental partners
Build strong, trust-based relationships with Flight Operations to serve as a trusted advisor and meet their labor contract needs effectively
Support the development of communication strategies and advocacy campaigns to advance the Companys goals and objectives as it relates to Flight Ops unions
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee&39;s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to quickly develop an understand Flight Operations primary responsibilities and objectives
Ability to quickly develop an understanding of Flight Operations employees labor unions and their responsibilities
Ability to facilitate business engagements including requirements gathering, process mapping, and principles of continuous improvement
Ability to evaluate, describe and design complex systems
Skilled at root cause analysis and uncovering undocumented requirements
Ability to identify and connect seemingly disparate issues for a common solution
Able to present complex topics to varied audiences, including executive level audiences
Ability to translate strategic goals into tactical execution
Strong relationship building and influencing skills to encourage collaboration and achieve Flight Operations objectives
Expert level skills with Microsoft Office products
Ability to lead exercises across multiple work groups and driving to consensus
Skilled in conducting and presenting strategic research and detailed analysis
Experience
Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
Project management, professional services/consulting, planning, and/or related capacity that requires leading cross-functional efforts or projects with Leadership and/or business SMEs
Data collection, analysis, presenting, requirements gathering, facilitation and documentation
Microsoft Office Suite, including strong PowerPoint and Excel experience
Preferred: Experience developing engaging PowerPoint presentations
Preferred: Experience in the aviation industry
Preferred: Experience facilitating ideation discussions
Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information
Air travel with overnight stays required as needed
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $102,500 per year to $113,900 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
