The Global Security Activity Team in Boeing Defence Australia is dedicated to delivering the most trustworthy and efficient industrial security service in the protection of personnel, infrastructure and all confidential data foundational to Boeing and its clients.

We are presently seeking an Information Technology Security Officer (ITSO) to support the information security imperatives throughout Boeing Defence Australia.

This role is based in Brisbane.

Job summary

The Information Technology Security Officer (ITSO) is a System Administration role with an IT security focus. The ITSO is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the secure ICT environments within BDA, including but not limited to network security, gateway security, identity management, system security and media and equipment security, in accordance with the Commonwealth Information Security Manual (ISM) and under Guidance from the BDA Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), System Owner and the BDA Security Governance Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain ICT environments
  • System Administration activities including but not limited to:In accordance with the mandated government policy, BDA ICT policy and procedures, undertake the appropriate protection of ICT systems utilised for the storage, handling and transmission of classified material;
    • Account management
    • Event logging
    • System fault identification and fault rectification
    • System Upgrades
    • Monitor system performance
    • Maintaining network connectivity and configuration
    • Creation and maintenance of documentation of the environments configuration and operational processes
  • In accordance with the mandated government policy, BDA ICT policy and procedures, undertake and/or /assist with the certification of Company ICT classified development systems
  • Implement and maintain network security in accordance with government and BDA policies
  • In accordance with the ISM, develop and provide company system specific security policy, procedures and advice.
  • Maintain confidentiality, discretion and high levels of integrity to ensure both Boeing and client information and data is protected
  • Empower a culture of safety, security and compliance across the business

Experience/Qualifications

  • This position requires an Australian Security Clearance at the NV2 Level and applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements
  • Familiarity with DFIR operations within the Australian Government context, with a good working knowledge of the ISM, PSPF, DSPF
  • It is likely that a candidate may have a diploma or degree in cyber security, IT or related discipline
  • Industry certifications are highly desirable
  • Highly organised, task oriented, self-starter that demonstrates a high degree of initiative and requires minimal supervision
  • Ability to make and/or change plans, goals and actions in response to an evolving business environment with the awareness to operate as a focal for incident response across the business
  • Ability to travel periodically as planned or unplanned within or outside assigned region
  • Good understanding of computer intrusion activity and incident response techniques
  • Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable
